Start your adventure in Utrecht

Your adventure begins in the vibrant heart of the Netherlands, Utrecht. This charming city is the perfect starting point for the Tour de Pays-Bas. Cycle past the picturesque landscape of the Loosdrecht and Vinkeveense lakes as you travel north.

1. Nature campsite Callantsoog, North Holland

Your first camping stop is at Callantsoog, a beautiful part of the Netherlands in the province of North Holland. Here you can spend the night among the horses on a unique camping spot near the beach. It is a true bird paradise and if you love tulips, you are in the right place. In spring, you can enjoy the beautiful tulip fields while cycling through Tulip Land. From Callantsoog, we head south through small villages.

Do you love tulips? On this cycle route through Tulip Land, you'll pass all kinds of tulip fields. A magical place for flower lovers. It is ideal to do this beautiful cycle route of the Netherlands from the beginning of March until the end of May. This is when you can enjoy the beautiful colours around you the most. During this 32-kilometre route, you will pass places like Keukenhof and Panorama Tulip Land.

2. Farm campsite Schipluiden, South Holland

The next stop is Schipluiden in South Holland, an oasis of calm in the middle of the Randstad. Camp at this farm campsite among the cows and horses, enjoy fresh local produce and wake up every morning with a fresh egg from the chickens in the yard. The longest cycling route in the Netherlands passes partly through the area. This cycle route is a whopping 786.37 kilometres long and takes you past all the heritage sites in the Netherlands. The longest cycle route in the Netherlands is a bike ride through UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Grab your bike and discover special places. This route passes villages, forts and cultural sites.  For example, you can visit the Wadden Sea and count the windmills at Kinderdijk. You can also admire the former Schokland and visit places like the Beemster. It takes about 46 hours and 41 minutes. Therefore, it is convenient to divide this route into four to five days.
