Our campspace is a small oasis between the meadows of Midden Delfland, close to the cities of the Randstad. By bike it is 45 minutes to Rotterdam/The Hague, 25 minutes to Delft and Schiedam and the beach is also easily accessible. You can see the skylines of these cities between the trees. At the end of the willow lane you will find our historic farm. You can set up the tent between the fruit trees and the vegetable garden. Enjoy the green landscape with birds, geese, cows, horses, croaking frogs and the fantastic sunrise/sunset (for beautiful photos). The chickens scurry around and lay an egg every morning. Our cats Gijs and Kees and dog Guus are also happy to visit you for a bit of company. The bunnies Dille & Camille love to cuddle. In the herb garden you can pick herbs to make your food even more delicious or to brew a nice tea. There is also a central fire pit for evening fires.

Next to the haystack is our new gypsy wagon with 2 good showers / 2 toilets / urinal / sink and a washing-up area. There is also a shed with fridge/oven/coffee maker/kettle and books and games.
And of course we (Leon and Angela) are there to inform you about the surroundings and things to do.

We have about 5 places and you can choose one yourself. There even is a spot on a small penisula and a fireplace.

Perfect for...

nature lovers, cyclists and hikers

We are Angela and Leon and we are happy that we can receive camping guests for the 3rd year through Campspace. We would like to tell you about the beautiful Midden Delfland and we are also well known in Delft. Angela really likes to cook with vegetables/fruit from the vegetable garden, so maybe you can join us one day! And on Saturday it is usually pizza day that you can make yourself or we make it fresh for you (€9.50 pp). Let us know in advance.

Fantastische plek.

How was the contact with the host?
Angela heeft ons heel warm ontvangen en ons rustig aan het hele terrein laten zien. Het was bijzonder dat ze zo de tijd nam voor ons.

Thank you Bram for your kind words. And yes, we try to make it a party for everyone and the surrounding animals certainly contribute to that! See you again next year, because we will be closing this weekend. Greetings from our country house and thanks for the nice photos.

Experience great tranquility. The relaxed holiday feeling, because we didn't even have to set up a (De Waard) tent. Booked another night. :)

How was the contact with the host?
Went smoothly, quick responses and they were appropriately involved during stay as well.

Tips for new guests?
You can set up your own tent or opt for a pre-pitched tent including inventory. Bring your own bedding and a crate of groceries then you are ready for a wonderful stay.

Lovely small-scale place somewhere in the meadows between the horses. Nice reception, spacious camping spot. Angela and Leon have created several nice spots on the property where you can sit and enjoy the sunset, for example.
Sanitary is fine, you have to time in the morning when you want to do the dishes since there is only 1 'spot'. The same applies to the room with a sink and mirror.
You have the possibility to use electricity in a neat 'shed', there is also an oven and several kettles, but also a games cabinet. Ideal!

How was the contact with the host?
Contact went very smoothly, Angela/Leon responded very quickly.

Tips for new guests?
Please take marshmallows for over the campfire :)

We stayed in the furnished tent and that was lovely. A quiet spot on the edge of a meadow. Everything that was needed was there. Had delicious homemade pizzas on Saturday evening

If you have guests who are not a fan of insects in the tent, bring a mosquito net. And a (small) jerry can for water is handy, so you don't have to walk back and forth to the tap every time.

Spent one night in a furnished tent. The grounds are nice. Nice lounge area available. Nice atmosphere, nice and quiet. Other guests were scattered all over the site.

Plumbing was very neat!!! Very nice shower, neat toilets, etc. A big plus!

Nice that the kettle can be used (as long as other guests don't take it antisocially with them to their tent and you walk back and forth 5x expecting it to be put back...)

We knew that the furnished tent would be basic camping. The raised air mattress is fine (if it is not a cold night.) We found the 2 stretchers less comfortable (pit / hammock effect). Our own sleeping mats on the floor sleep better. No use of stove, etc
The only thing that was really disappointing was the condition of the tent cloth: completely moldy (stored damp?). This made it smell very musty in the tent. Not so bad for one night. But for longer stays that would be a turn off for me.

How was the contact with the host?
Host responds quickly and kindly to reservation. Reception was also warm.

Tips for new guests?
Fresh night and sleeping on an air mattress? Place an extra blanket or insulation mat on the air mattress.

June 2022 · Translated from dutch

Host Angela en Leon has responded

Hi Jessica, thank you for your lovely review! Other guests can also benefit from this.

Too bad the camp beds slept a little less well. There are aluminum mats under the beds in the tent and there is an extra rug in the basket. Maybe you missed that one.

And we'll take another look at the tent canvas. Last year we cleaned and stored dry. It's because the trees above keep it moist for longer. It hadn't been used that week, so it may have been closed for too long. We'll see what we can do about it. Thanks for the tip!

What a great experience it was to camp with Angela and Leon! :-)

I slept in the ready tent. A huge tent with a fixed bed or a double mattress to choose from and nice chairs in front of the door.

The garden surrounding the farm where the campsite is located is beautifully green, with fruit trees and water. The chickens roam free in front of your tent and make it a cozy place.

The area is very beautiful with the old center of Maassluis, Schipluiden and Schiedam within cycling distance. But even more beautiful are the nature areas around the rivers Schie, Rotte and De Vliet.

Making a campfire in the evening was great! Often other camping guests joined inc Angela and Leon.

And if it rained, there was the option to hide under the hay barn or separate common room (which also has two refrigerators). There were also many games for children such as a table tennis table.

I extended my stay twice because it was just very nice and soothing and I felt very welcome.

How was the contact with the host?
Very warm and welcoming, felt right at home and welcome!

The contrast with the surrounding urban area (within cycling distance!) could hardly be greater. This small-scale campsite is located in the middle of the Green Heart, an oasis of greenery and rurality. In mid-August we were able to rent a tent here for a weekend. As real campers, after several camping holidays with our own tent, we didn't feel like packing and unpacking our own tent for a weekend again this year. The rental tent is an authentic De Waard tent of approximately 30 years old for a very reasonable price. Fairly basic (and nostalgic), for us it had its own charm. The campsite is also basic, don't expect a children's disco in the evening or a 25 meter pool during the day. But there are plenty of opportunities to participate on a small scale in activities that the owners offer. Like baking pizzas in a group. A must for the peace-seeking camper. In the green area itself there are many cycling options, furthermore, as mentioned, cities such as Delft, Rotterdam and The Hague are easily accessible by bicycle (or public transport).

How was the contact with the host?
Short and sweet. And enthusiastic.

Tips for new guests?
Bring a bike.

What an incredibly nice place this is! Relax in the green for a while. Nice, unique places to put up your tent or camper. There are all kinds of different animals in the area and on the campsite: horses, cows, sheep, chickens, cats, rabbits and a dog.
The sanitary facilities are a nice gypsy wagon that looks very neat! There are several places to sit, covered inside, covered outside or completely outside. There are games and tips for activities.

Angela’s campsite on her small farm away from the main road and in a sea of other agricultural land was a lovely place to stay for a few nights while visiting Rotterdam and Delft by bicycle. Angela and her partner were there to greet me on arrival and were always around to answer questions. They had prepared a vast amount of tourism information for the region which was helpful for a foreigner like me.

There is also a roof with tables and chairs that you can use. And outside there are several benches, there is a fire pit and hammocks. We were here for 3 nights but would have loved to stay here...

We were welcomed with a drink and also really enjoyed the pizza they made for us. There's a fire pit and firewood available. We also made friends with dog Tarzan and cat Gijs.
