About this location
De Veldernis is an experience place with a food forest, a play forest where children can slide over a pool on the deadride, and a shared vegetable garden. We have 2 covered outdoor areas that you can use (not on the caravans themselves, but in the play forest). There are 2 caravans available, each with 2 double beds (140cm). Crockery, glasses, plates, coffee and tea are also available in the caravans. The 2 caravans are at a distance from each other, so privacy is assured. There is a shared natural outdoor shower with biodegradable shampoo and shower gel. In addition, a compost toilet, sink with washing up liquid.
On the domain there is a mud hut built entirely with clay from the ground and recycled material. There is a fully equipped kitchen with bathroom (with bath) that you share with fellow guests. The mud house houses the workshop of the lady of the house where she weaves baskets from wild plants. Wifi is available in the small house. There is a sofa with TV (only DVD available) that you can use.
There is a swimming pond on the property where you can enjoy a swim. There are also a number of fire places. Wood can be purchased and comes from our own sustainably pollarded forest.
Accessible by public transport. 15 minutes walk from nearest train station. A half-hour bike ride from Bruges. Ostend is a 25-minute drive by car. The Doeveren and Hoogveld nature reserves are within walking distance.

We grow our own vegetables in our permaculture vegetable garden and food forest. Our aim is to maximize biodiversity. We build with loam from the ground, recover material, natural paints, make our own from local material.

Cancellation Policy
Guests who cancel at least 3 days before check-in date will receive a refund of the amount paid by them (excl. Campspace fees). Otherwise they will not be refunded. If the host does not accept the reservation, guests will receive a full refund.
Rules
Please be quiet after 10 pm. Try to walk on the paths and not on the beds. You can romp anywhere in the play forest.
