Welcome to the private grounds of Wignet, a haven of peace and tranquility where you can recharge and observe nature. (Music and parties are prohibited.) Reserve the pond and grounds just for you, your group, family, and/or couple. A truly private, nature-filled experience in the heart of the national park between the Sambre and Meuse rivers! (Viroinval's national park designation is very recent, since 2023.) We welcome you to this place reserved for nature lovers, guaranteeing your privacy (as we only accommodate one group at a time). The setting: A private wooded property with a clearing, a 10-are pond, and direct access to hundreds of kilometers of marked trails in a rolling landscape. You have a private entrance through the gate to park your vehicle on the gravel driveway, as well as 32 ares of green space to pitch your tent, enjoy the birdsong, and the sound of flowing water. At night, the sky is visible in the center of the clearing and is protected from light pollution. This private campsite is located on the outskirts of the village, giving you easy access to the forest and the village itself. The trees provide privacy. We ask for quiet after 10 pm. Our garden borders the pond property, so you may see our herd of goats and our horse. Therefore, we prefer not to accommodate dogs. The pitch: You can place your tents as you wish anywhere on the grounds. It is essentially one large campsite. Vans and minivans can easily park next to the campfire area while remaining on the gravel driveway (please specify the length in your booking request). Sanitary facilities: You have access to a 3.5m² tiled shelter with a sink (drinking water) and a standard toilet. There is also an unusual outdoor shower (hot water with a pressure shower). Amenities: !!! New! You also have a small chalet (concrete slab) of 12m² with a fully equipped kitchen and a covered dining area: - Fridge, kettle, freezer, storage cupboard, sink (for summer use) - It is possible to pitch a two or three-person tent in the shelter. In good weather, there are also two sun loungers and chairs to enjoy the sun by the pond. It is possible to board your horse at an equestrian center located 800m away; ask us for more information. Shops in the village: - An organic shop (vegetables, cereals, organic products) - A fish shop (fish, artisanal smoked salmon, local specialty = escaveche la Madeleine) - A butcher/cheese shop/wine shop - Two bakeries - A restaurant - A chip shop - A pharmacy - A general store - A convenience store - A garage. The easiest way is to enjoy the walks we'll be happy to suggest, whether on foot, by running, cycling, or horseback riding. We can create itineraries tailored to your preferences, using a map or GPS. Cycle path through the woods towards the village of Oignies (7km). Activities in the village: - Horse riding - Mountain bike, electric mountain bike, and kayak rentals - Rock climbing routes (unsupervised, accessible to experienced climbers) - Free access tennis court - Petanque court - Steam train to explore the villages of Viroinval (see timetable on the cfv3v website). By car: Just 20 minutes from the Eau d'Heure lakes! 10km from Lake Ry de Rome. 10 minutes from France. Please note the following rules: ARRIVAL: Let us know your arrival time to facilitate check-in. QUIET: Please respect the quiet atmosphere (no music!!), no parties. EQUIPMENT: Please respect our equipment (chairs, tables, etc.) and return it to its original location upon departure. CLEANLINESS: Keep the grounds clean (no branches lying around, no litter, no cigarette butts in the fire pit, clean any equipment used, such as barbecue grills). SMOKING: Cigarettes must not be left on the grounds or in the fire pit!! Please bring a container to take your cigarette butts with you. WASTE: Please sort your waste responsibly into the designated bins (cardboard, organic waste, PMC (plastics), glass).
