Reserve the pond and the 32 ares of land just for you, your group, family and/or couple. A life-size private experience.

We welcome you to this quiet, secluded place, reserved for nature lovers and guaranteeing your privacy because we welcome one group at a time.

The framework :

Private wooded property with a clearing, pond and direct access to hundreds of km of marked paths in a hilly landscape.

You will have a personal entrance through the gate to park your vehicle there, as well as 32ares of greenery to pitch your tent, enjoy the birdsong and the running water. At night, the sky is visible in the center of the clearing and is preserved from light pollution.

All this on the outskirts of the village, you will have the forest at your fingertips while having easy access to the village, if necessary we are available quickly because we live nearby.

This space, composed of large trees, pond and a beautiful grassy central part will allow you to rest in the sun or in the shade according to your desires.

Our garden touches the property of the pond, you will have the opportunity to see our herd of goats and our horse. This is why we prefer not to welcome your dogs.

Shops in the village:

-Two organic stores (vegetables, cereals, organic products)
-a fish shop (fish, artisanal smoked salmon, also producer of escaveche la Madeleine)
- a butcher shop
- two bakeries
- a restaurant,
- a chip shop
- a pharmacy
- small grocery store,
- one night
- a garage.

The slots :

You can arrange your tents at your convenience throughout the site.

Rather flat parts in the center and slightly sloping at the ends. Shade / sun / partial shade

Sheltered from the wind and view thanks to the trees.

The toilets:

You benefit from a tiled hut of 3.5m2 with classic WC, flushing with a bucket of water from the pond and also a sink, (drinking water) unusual outdoor shower possible and only cold for the moment. (possible to take a bucket of hot water via the kettle as well)

Better to put some hot water in the sink via the kettle to warm up.

Equipment:

You also benefit from a second cabin (concrete slab) 5m2 with fridge equipped with a freezer, table, kettle, chairs and electricity. Great for sheltering you.

In good weather, there are also two sun loungers to enjoy the sun by the 10ares pond.

You can dry your clothes on a clothesline either indoors or outdoors.

Possible to put your horse in the meadow with you because it is well fenced. Or at the carousel located 800m away, ask us to contact you.

Very nice place to stand in peace. Perfect level of "accommodation": campfire place, covered kitchenette (even with fridge), toilet, drinking water,... Peaceful yet within walking distance of the village (shop, bakery, café). Highly recommended!

How was the contact with the host?
Very helpful: Romain shared several walks through his Runnersworld account. He is very accessible via email & whatsapp.

Tips for new guests?
The Virion valley is very nice for walking but be sure to explore the forests towards Oignies. These are beautiful and very diverse. Moreover, (almost) the entire area is publicly accessible, which makes an endless possibility of hikes possible. The hunting zones are well marked so that you can plan your walk around them.

We just came back from a wonderful autumn weekend trip to this special place. It is a true hidden gem. You can choose to walk to the village for a good coffee or into the woods. At night you hear the owls everywhere. Very silent. Lot of privacy. Just of the road, but close to the road. The electricity, running water and outdoor shower make a big difference. Even if you are a real outdoor, in nature, of the grid camper like us. We will definitely be back! Our new favorite!

How was the contact with the host?
Romain was very helpful and friendly and a great host.

Nice quiet location. This one is totally well fenced. The pond is full and clean, just waiting for these new inhabitants who unfortunately had to disappear with the drought this summer. The trees on the ground are magnificent. Everything is planned and very practical. Fridge, WC, sorting bins, bbq grills...

How was the contact with the host?
Very welcoming, Romain explained to us the walks to do in the region. Delphine takes care of her goats and her horse who come to say hello to you all the way to the field. Very smiling, she takes the time to explain the region to you too.

Tips for new guests?
Region that lends itself well to electric mountain biking, next time we will take them.
The hammock between 2 trees at the edge of the pond is nice.

Had a wonderful stay! Luxury to have a private campsite! Many animals and sounds (birds, dragonflies, bats ect). Had 2 visits from a fox. Unfortunately, the cows had just been separated from the herd, so a lot of bellowing for a few days. Was financially compensated by Romain, very friendly!
Beautiful surroundings, plenty to do.
Highly recommended!

How was the contact with the host?
Romain stopped by for an explanation when we arrived. We could also approach him with questions.

Tips for new guests?
Keep waste in the shed and not near the tent, because of the fox!

Blissful camper space to relax! Enjoy both during the day and in the evening at the campfire. Unfortunately, the pond was empty due to the persistent heat, but a 20 minute walk away there is a river to swim in.

Arriving at the place we were kindly welcomed with a tour. Everything is basically there, (for me the shower was too cold, but I solved that with the water from the kettle) During our visit there was a huge drought, so the lake near the place was almost completely dry. But nobody could do anything about that, so it doesn't matter of course. Very quiet location, sometimes helping a baby goat because it is stuck again, but that was also a reason to pet them :)

Wonderfully quiet place, for people who are not averse to primitive life!

How was the contact with the host?
On the way to the place, the host asked what time we would be there. Once he arrived, he indicated that he was always available for questions via his mobile number. He has all kinds of tips on paper, which makes it all a bit more personal!

Tips for new guests?
Make no mistake about the cold nights, even with 30 degrees during the day!

Tucked away in a picturesque town, this place feels a bit like wild camping. Basic facilities are available, but the main asset is the peace and quiet, the setting sun between the trees and the fact that you are all alone here.

How was the contact with the host?
Romain responds very quickly to bookings and is easily accessible. He comes to say hello and ask if you need anything, then he leaves you alone and you can always reach him by phone. Friendly reception!

Tips for new guests?
Be sure to try one of Romain's walking routes. Or use an app like Komoot to explore the beautiful surroundings. The garden is a great starting point and in 5 minutes you are in the 'center' of the town.

Dear Romain and Delphine,

We loved to stay in your beautiful garden. We had the complete garden for ourselves. Every morning we woke up, watching the squirls in the trees and the nuthatch feeding its youngs.

We made a fire every evening, from the woodblocks that were available (as it was quite cold at night). It was very cozy and the place is beautiful!
We cycled the routes that you advised, thank you!

How was the contact with the host?
The contact was perfect. We talked slowly and sometimes with hand and feed. We learned some sailing knots to hang the hammock and you provided a bicycle pump, that we forgot to bring :D

Tips for new guests?
Definitely go here! Prepare yourself for a cold shower ;) but also for the most beautiful place fully for yourselves and bring your bicycle! Having a mountainbike here would be the best, but a roadbike also works if you don't mind a walk now and then :)

Tell us about your experience
wonderful campsite, best ever, so green, quiet, many birds and wildlife, nearly no musquitos because little bats ate them at night, we heard a big owl nearby, we loved the campfire, a real nature lovers campsite, nice chairs, and mini kitchen facilities, we did not miss the hot shower, this camping has the greatest outdoor shower ever, closer to nature you don't get, great hiking and bike trails just from the campsite, great small baker in the village! lots to see and do in the area, spectacular rocks and caves, couvain is a nice city, driving near the muse was great with all the greens and rocks and wild flowers, every village in vallois center has boards with routes going from there by hiking or biking

How was the contact with the host?
very good, friendly, helpful, nice directions to routes, markets and they had nice facilities such as dishwashing stuff, a little refriderator, water boiler, a pan, nice chairs also for lying, free wood for the campfire, the kids loved the little goats, a nice wood stove on which you can cook and a nice grill so you would not need to bring your own barbeque

Tips for new guests?
this campsite is perfect for nature lovers that do not need luxury and white tiled toilet facilities, we loved to be back to nature and experience the quietness and many birds and wildlife, the kids loved to play with the pond and catch frogs and bugs, climb the trees, good butcher and super nice small bakery nearby (just 1km walk) for the best bread, pizza and pastry, from the olloy center near the church you can find many routes and the routes nearby at the first village to your left in nimes were super, we walked them all even with small children, do bring food, there is no terras or ice cream nearby, it is not very touristic, so just go by a backer in the morning and bring your drinks and you are fine the whole day. driving near the muse (maas) is fantastic from givet to downwards

My first experience with Campspace and an instant hit! Beautiful location with everything I needed nearby (electricity, toilet, sink with kettle to wash myself, fridge). A nice big place on the pond. In the evening I was allowed to light the fire to warm myself.
