Natural garden in the heart of the Cotentin, Ste Mère Eglise
About this campspace #s004999

Your host
AnneWe live in the greenery in the center of the beautiful nature reserve "Le Parc des Marais du Cotentin et du Bessin." You can walk and cycle to your heart's content here.
The sea is never far away. You can enjoy a stroll on the extensive beaches and in the numerous small fishing ports around where you can enjoy delicious seafood.
The Normandy landings (WWII) happened nearby. Numerous museums and memorials bear witness to this.
Our house is set in a beautiful garden with a cider orchard and a lush vegetable garden where we grow our vegetables organically in harmony with nature. We sell our aromatic and medicinal herbs. Our mini campsite is located in our garden at a distance from our house.
We choose to allow people to camp very limited, one or two places so that they can fully enjoy the peace, space and silence. The accommodation is basic. You have a compost toilet and a hot shower at your disposal.
You can request breakfast if you wish. Kris and Anne spoil at the breakfast table with fresh eggs from our chickens, homemade bread, croissants and homemade jam.
WIFI available and bicycle rental possible.
A combination with our guest rooms is possible.

A wonderfully quiet and dark environment.
There are few amenities. We missed a sink with mirror, showering was improvised with a garden hose.
How was the contact with the host?
Fine

Dear Paul,
From our first meeting I felt that you were not happy with your spacious place in our beautiful, lush garden. Our announcement makes it very clear that our equipment is basic. And yet it still feels uncomfortable that we cannot meet your unspoken demands for more luxury. Our strength lies in providing a place where people can be, enjoy without the noise of other campers, in silence, tranquility and full nature. A great luxury in the busy world in which you live. Not?
You have barbecued here, slept in, picked flowers, ... Is all of that worthless?
Our shower is clean and tidy, and you have received wonderfully warm water through our garden hose. Is it your concern how we take care of the supply of water? And we would certainly have given you a mirror and a sink if you would have asked. It is there but in a different place….
And when you gave me this positive tip, I indicated to you that it is planned for next year.
We don't even understand that our place is dark, you were gone for the one day you were here. How can you know?
We missed your kindness. I asked several times how you were doing and barely got an answer. We didn't get a good day from your wife and child, no goodbyes,...
In fact, it is not immediately apparent how we want to shape relationships on our project.
Have a nice summer to you,
Anne&Kris

We had a wonderful week in Anne and Kris' garden.
There was a compost toilet, a (wonderful) outdoor shower, spicy vegetable garden, birdsong, chickens (which lay tasty eggs), ...
In short, if you like to place your tent in a quiet place, this is a great place!
How was the contact with the host?
Kris and Anne are very nice people. They helped us on our way in a beautiful region.
We also received valuable tips about (hidden) places that we would otherwise not find as a tourist
Tips for new guests?
- Let yourself be pampered by an honest breakfast
- Enjoy a beautiful starry sky or look for the glowworms in the dark
