About this location

Nature Reserve 't Heuvelhof. This is not a campsite. This is a place to slow down, find stillness, and return to the essence. Just a dozen spacious pitches, in meadows, among trees, and near the vineyard and sheep. No hustle and bustle. Instead, space, silence, and the rhythm of the land. Those who come here come for peace; not for social activity. Meetings are possible, but nothing is required. ⸻ 🔥 Simple living Everything has been deliberately kept simple. No unnecessary luxury; just a place that lives and breathes. ⸻ 🚽🚿 Sanitary facilities - Scandinavian style Dry toilet and simple shower. Wood, metal, and the occasional spider; basic and intentionally so. With hot water as a small luxury. ⸻ 🌱 For whom • For those seeking peace and nature • For those who appreciate simplicity • For those who do not shy away from silence ⸻ ⚠️ Peace and nature take center stage Not a place for groups, parties, or entertainment. (Max. 2 families at a time; tranquility remains paramount.) ⸻ 🌿 What you will find here: Swimming pool, sauna, hot tubs, ice bath, tipi with fire, orchard, food forest, and vineyard. Everything simple. Everything real. ⸻ 🌾 Finally: No program. No expectations. Fire, water, and silence are already there. You only need to be present.

Do you dream of a camping experience like in the old days, but with just that little bit extra? At our nature campsite, you won't find rows of tents or caravans, but spacious, unique spots right in the middle of nature. Pitch your small tent, a single family tent, a campervan, or a small vintage caravan* in the orchard, near the sheep, or in the (food) forest and experience the freedom of outdoor life. * Small vintage caravans from before the year 2000, with a maximum total length of 5.5 meters, including the drawbar. Who is this for? 🌿 Adventurers, minimalists, and nature lovers who appreciate peace and simplicity. 🔥 Campers who love silence, campfires, and back-to-basics with an extra dimension. And of course, for our young adventurers too. 🐾 Four-legged friends? They are welcome here too! What makes this place unique? ✔ Natural experience: walk through various biotopes, swim in the natural pool, and – for the brave – a 5-meter high jump into the water! ✔ Wellness in nature: relax in the wood-fired barrel sauna & hot tub or dive into the 3°C ice bath. ✔ True simplicity: no unnecessary luxury, but the magic of cooking over a wood fire and a free tipi with a campfire circle for rainy days. ✔ 'Leave no trace' ethics: together we take care of the place, nature, and each other.

2. Furnished bell tent in the orchard

  • Equipped tent

In the shade of a long row of pollard willows, surrounded by silence and soft evening scents, stands our romantic bell tent; a place where time slows down and love is given space. This charming, round tent is made of sturdy, breathable canvas and exudes pure serenity. Inside, a comfortable double bed awaits, surrounded by cushions that invite long conversations and quiet mornings. Two single mattresses are available for extra company, but it is at its most beautiful here as a couple. A small, cozy kitchen with everything you need—from a refrigerator to kitchen utensils—makes it easy to prepare something delicious together. The tent's zipper opens to a view that feels like a postcard: rolling hills of Heuvelland, vast fields bathed in soft, golden light, and in the distance, small churches rising above the landscape like silent beacons. You stay here right in the middle of the fields, in a living agricultural landscape. The silence is not absolute silence, but the rhythm of the land; sometimes audible, interwoven with the landscape. Outside, there is a garden table and chairs for long evenings, a fire pit for warm conversations, and a griddle where you can grill something together while the sun slowly sets. A bell tent invites you to: • Slow down and relax: get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life for a while. • Connect with nature: sleep under canvas with the sounds of birds and fresh air all around you. Note: bring your own bedding.

During the summer months, we offer two smaller 20m² bivouac spots on the nature campsite, to the left and right of the willow hut in the food forest: old-fashioned camping with a small tent. Do this alone, with your partner, family, or a few friends... and four-legged friends are welcome too. Your car cannot be parked at your bivouac spot and must be parked in the parking lot on the grounds. There is also no electricity available. 'A return to our essence', 'rewilding' yourself, plenty of space, enjoying all the elements of nature, thoroughly enjoying the things you don't do at home, even with less luxury—that is how you can describe our entire offer. Ideal for: adventurers, minimalists, and value seekers who love staying in nature with little luxury, but still want that little bit extra. Note: no campfires allowed.

Verwilderde Zielen vzw/foundation is a small-scale initiative based on the conviction that people and the landscape mutually influence one another. Through agriculture, nature management, and simple forms of being together, we create places where slowing down, silence, and connection are allowed to arise naturally. We do not believe in doing more, but in being present differently: with attention to the rhythm of the seasons, to fire and water, to silence and encounter. Everything that happens here—camping, bivouacking, activities, or gatherings—serves the land and remains subordinate to peace, simplicity, and respect for living things.

The entire yard is maintained in an ecological way. Plants are given plenty of space to grow and bloom. Mowing is done where necessary. No use of chemical pesticides, etc. Our vineyard is organically maintained. We use our own water extraction and good filtering. Everything in the yard is dominated by nature, in which 'human beings' are only a small link. If you come to camp on our site, we apply the 'leave no trace' ethic; you leave our premises in the same condition as you found it. All waste is also taken back (excluding compostable waste or paying option).

We provide toilet paper and cleaning supplies; if everyone keeps them clean, it remains pleasant for everyone. Thank you! 🧻 • Dogs are welcome! 🐕 But: please clean up dog poop. You will find bags on the premises. Do you see one lying around? Clean it up or let us know. ⸻ Fire & Noise 🔥 • Open fires only in our official fire pits. No barbecues with open flames! • During periods of drought, the municipality may temporarily ban campfires. • No amplified music on the premises. Silence is required after 11 PM; So no noise, but frogs, stars, and soft conversations around the campfire. ⸻ Traffic & Groups 🚗 • Max. 1 vehicle per pitch. Extra cars? Park at Dranouterstraat 5 (next to the fire station) or use the paid parking option. Do not park on the public road around the site = obstruction by agricultural vehicles! • No bachelor parties or noisy groups. Family groups? Maximum of two families. Larger group? You can rent the site privately. ⸻ Practical • Extra services (such as wood, regional drinks, eggs…) can be paid for in cash. For electronic payments, a fee of €0.50 will be added for depreciation. 💶 • No charging point for electric cars on the site, but there is one in Dranouter (2 km) at the Music Centre. ⸻ Enjoy the peace, the nature, and each other. Thank you for carrying this place with us. Welcome home to 't Heuvelhof.
