In the middle of a beautiful nature reserve, at the foot of the river Nete, lies De Oevervloed, a place to completely unwind. Inspired by permaculture principles, we are designing this former weekend residence. We have a large colorful vegetable garden from which we can prepare a delicious meal in the evening for those who want. Breakfast is also possible with eggs from our chickens and sourdough bread from local bakers. Besides a lot of chickens, a few rabbits live here, our enthusiastic dog Storm and in the meadow next to us is mule Jack. We use groundwater that we filter for drinking and there is a simple compost toilet. In the summer when it is not too wet, you can set up your tent in the elf forest. We also have a place for a modest camper van. (Last year it was right at the entrance to the walking path, but now there is also the option to place it inside the gate, so that you can experience a little more privacy)
The canal is a 5-minute walk away and the center of both Mol and Balen are not far away.
In addition to the Griesbroek nature reserve in which we are located, this region also has a lot of other nature reserves and hiking / exploration opportunities. We also border close to Limburg with its many beautiful cycling routes and Bosland.
We have a lot of walking maps of the area that you can borrow.

My name is Merel and I live with my boyfriend Steven in a chalet in the woods. We like to connect with people by letting them enjoy and be inspired by this beautiful place, to which we give our energy and dedication day in, day out. We are also both musicians and we regularly give sound journeys and relaxation concerts.

We think it is important that you take care of both yourself and the place and the peace here (so no drugs or excessive alcohol use).
Dogs are allowed, provided you can keep them out of the vegetable garden :) Also keep in mind that we have a dog ourselves (which has to be assertive in the beginning)
Making a fire is certainly possible, in the space provided. We do ask for a contribution for the wood.
