Moor magic - parking space in the middle of the moor forest The parking space is located in a moor forest directly on an asphalted farm track. Please take the "W 2" entrance. There is only one parking space for medium-sized vehicles (no trucks). The entrance is marked with 2 orange markings. If you ignore them, you will end up in the ditch! You are standing in a 10 hectare forest - the so-called "Sienmoor" - and have shade all day long. The forest was used for peat extraction until the end of the 1970s and has been subject to overgrowth (succession) since then. If you wander through the forest, you will find some cotton grass and other indicators of moorland. Unfortunately, the forest is being drained by the surrounding ditches, so that it is increasingly losing its moor character. Please do not light a fire and take the rubbish with you - that goes without saying. Have fun in the moor forest! The legal basis for overnight stays in the forest is the “Lower Saxony Law on Forests and Landscape Ordinance (NWaldLG)” § 28 Further provisions (in conjunction with § 27): “Forest owners (…) can permit the use of their land (…). Permission (…) may only be granted for a limited period of a few days and only in individual cases.
