About this location

Welcome to Havreholm farm camping.
Havreholm is a historic farm from the 1200s. We have made a small area available for campers. It is a low cost campsite with few facilities.
The camping area is a small green place surrounded by trees and shrubs that protect against the wind and most of the noise from the nearby road. The road can be heard.
It's open all year.
On the property there is a wild garden which is used for workshops on permaculture and teaching about campfire food and biodiversity.
There are bonfires and barbecue eqiupment for free use in the wild garden. Firewood can be bought for the fire. Coal must be brought to the grill yourself.
As a guest at Havreholm farm you can look at the animals, use the farm's play facilities, taste the farm's herbs, fruits and berries or follow the various projects underway on the farm.
There is a small private motor airfield and rescue helicopter site approx. 250 meters from the farm. There are some fun homemade airplanes in between.
The farm is a historic farm and is being restored. We work in several places on the property. Dont worry about the mess. Enjoy the process.
The electricity is established and paid in advance in cash on arrival for the days that electricity is required.
Electricity costs 10 euro per day. Bring your own cable for electricity.
Firewood burner costs 3.5 euros per bag.
There is only approx. 2½ km. to the vibrant life of Ringsted center with station, clothing and grocery stores, banks, cinema, cafes, restaurants, museums, swimming pool etc.
You can reach most of Denmark from Ringsted.
The capital Copenhagen is only 45 minutes away by train or car. Funen and Jutland is only 1½-2 hours away by train. The train leaves every 30 minutes.

Hi. My name is Christel and I live with my husband Dann and our 3 children, on a old farm from 1863, only 60 km from Copenhagen.

We are working on renovating the farm, building a self-sufficient garden and making a nature garden where schoolchildren come and learn about organic farming, how to grow vegetables, utilize solar and wind energy, etc.

As a guest at Havreholm Gård, you may walk freely on the farm. You can look at the animals, take a walk in the garden or follow the various projects in progress around the farm. Don't worry about the mess, enjoy the process and look forward to the final result.

Dann works on shift while I am at home teaching our 2 youngest children. We have signed up as a host at "Workaway" and have a lot of wonderful volunteer helpers throughout the year.
