Beautiful tent meadow in the Schubertbauden area above Stadt Wehlen. The tent pitches are next to/between the cabins, which can also be rented. A 40-minute walk to the world-famous Bastei rock formation and 30 minutes to Stadt Wehlen train station. Ideal for hikers on the Painters' Way – Wehlen is located at the end of stages 1 and 7. A campfire area, giant swing, private sunset views, showers, and toilets are available. Perfect for those who appreciate simple conditions in nature.

  • Hikes to the Bastei, the Stone Table, the Swedish Holes, the Rauenstein...

  • Original Saxon climbing on the Rathen sandstone cliffs

  • The town of Wehlen no longer has a grocery store. In Rathen you will find a small general store with a basic selection of goods; the nearest supermarkets are in Pirna and Königstein.

  • Marktstübchen and Café Welyn in Wehlen; an even wider selection is available in Rathen (2.5 km). Recommendation: "Imbiss zur Habe" in Wehlen, open 11 am to 8 pm, except Wednesdays.

    Ideal as a starting point for hikes in the Vorderen Sächsische Schweiz (Front Saxon Switzerland). 40 minutes on foot to the Bastei, 25 to Rathen, 12 to Wehlen.

    The campsite is located only 50 meters above the Elbe cycle path.

  • Swimming

    Either in the Elbe (Be careful! Current, whirlpools, shipping traffic!) or in the outdoor swimming pool of Stadt Wehlen.

  • Sightseeing

    Königstein Fortress, Stolpen Castle, Hohnstein Castle, the historic old town of Pirna, Pillnitz Palace, Großsedlitz Baroque Garden, Dresden, Meissen, Moritzburg Castle... All doable as a day trip.
