About this location

Hello everyone, Hidden amidst the hills of southwest Hungary lies a paradise in the making. We are a Dutch family with 4 children and live amidst the beautiful nature of Hungary. Here you can enjoy peace, nature, sunshine, and a clear starry sky like you hardly see anywhere else ✨ Our site is off-grid and operates on a donation basis. Everyone is welcome — for one night or a little longer. Whether you come with a campervan, tent, or caravan, there are plenty of options; you are welcome! At the moment, we only have a composting toilet available. A place to slow down, experience, and enjoy the simple outdoor life. 🌱 What you will find here: • Peace and nature • Campfire area • Composting toilet • Vegetable garden • Chickens, dog, cat, and pony • Trampoline and sandbox for children • Swing under construction • Opportunity to join a communal meal 🍲 • Use of the bogrács (Hungarian cauldron) • Come and experience the outdoor life. Help out in the vegetable garden, join me foraging, learn how to make soup with nettles, drive off-road with me to the spring, enjoy the sunset and then the clear starry sky. We are still busy building our spot, so don't expect a luxury campsite, but a free, warm, and natural place where everyone is welcome. Activities: Swimming: - Zalakaros (thermal bath) - Gyékényes (former quarry) - Lake Balaton (about 35km drive) - Nagykanizsa (simple swimming pool) Other: - Hiking - Making a campfire - Geocaching (there are fun ones to be found in the area within 60km) - Restaurants and Coffee Shops (ice cream and cake) - the Sunday market in Nagykanizsa is highly recommended! - Nice playgrounds in Zalakaros and Nagykanizsa (by the lake) 🚧 Accessibility: The road to our spot is an unpaved road. This is not a problem for small campers anyway. Larger campers can also come, provided you enjoy a bit of adventure. Our own camper is 6.5 meters long and 3.20 meters high. Feel at home, come experience it, and enjoy the outdoors 🌻 We look forward to welcoming you!

We offer various pitches; you can choose a nice spot to park in consultation with us. We have nice shaded spots (further away from the compost toilet) under trees. We also have spots with a view of the meadow (without shade, but with room for an awning). The ground is not level, but can be leveled well with small leveling blocks, making it straight enough for many people. We have leveling blocks available. Accessibility: - via an unpaved road. This is certainly not a problem for small campers/vans, nor for adventurous campers. Our camper is 6.5 meters long and 3.25 meters high. With a tent, you can choose a nice spot under the trees, or wherever you like. Just stop by and we'll see what is available.

Hello everyone, We are a family with 4 children (aged 2 to 11) and live in beautiful Hungary. After years of traveling mostly in a camper van, we have found this beautiful spot with great potential in the hills of Zala. We extend a warm welcome to you and look forward to receiving you. With us, you don't just come to sleep, but to experience. If you like, you can join us foraging, help in the vegetable garden, or do whatever I happen to be doing at that moment. No day is the same. My husband (or I myself) would love to take you to the spring where we get our drinking water if we are going there that day anyway. Our children always enjoy meeting new children, but are also very sociable towards other people. You can be quietly on your own here or surround yourself with others. You are very welcome to join us for a meal, or we can make a campfire. We speak fluent Dutch and English, and we can also manage reasonably well with Hungarian and German.
