About this location

This is a former farmhouse in the commune of Loché-sur-Indrois, 5 km from the village center. It's a completely rural, very natural setting, on the edge of the Baugerais forest, 4 km from the Loches forest. There are numerous trails for walkers, mountain bikers, and quad bikers. It's not difficult to spot wildlife (game, herons, etc.). Small shops are located 5 km away. Tourist attractions are about an hour to an hour and a half away by car (Loire Valley castles, Beauval Zoo, Chaumont Garden Festival, etc.). On-site activities include walks, local festivals, and visits to several historical monuments (Chartreuse du Liget, Loches Citadel, Montrésor Castle). There's also Lake Chemillé (developed into a family water sports center with activities such as treetop adventure courses). Natural swimming in the Indre River is 5 km away, which is very pleasant for families. Pony club (ponies and horses) 15 minutes away. Verneuil golf course 30 minutes away, microlight airfield 10 minutes away. One hour's drive from Tours, Blois, or Châteauroux. 20 minutes from Beauval Zoo and the Seygi water sports center, half an hour from the Haute Touche animal park. The "Forêt des Livres" (Forest of Books) in Chanceaux near Loches is open the last weekend of August. A little further by car (1 or 1.5 hours) are the Loire Valley châteaux to the north and the Brenne ponds to the south. Also an hour's drive from the Chaumont Gardens (Chaumont-sur-Loire International Garden Festival), and 1.5 hours from the George Sand House. Other remarks: For specific motorhome needs (waste disposal), please inquire. For longer stays, there's always some gardening to do. If you'd like and have a little experience, you can lend a hand with garden maintenance in exchange for a partial refund of your accommodation fee. Just let me know at the beginning of your stay... we can always work something out. I've tried to create a presentation for different types of stays: more or less leisurely, more or less independent, more or less participatory—it's entirely up to you.

  • The surrounding heritage has its charm (Montresor, Chartreuse du Liget, La Coroirire etc...)

  • Loches market (food and other) on Wednesdays and Saturday mornings, very nice. In Loché a small market (mainly vegetables) on Thursday mornings

  • It's in Loches or Tours or Montrichard

  • Brasserie Carpé Diem, lakeside in Chemillé sur Indrois (8km), Restaurant Café de la Ville Montrésor (8km), lunchtime catering and Terra Lupus takeaway pizza in the town of Loché (4km)
