Welcome to La Villeneuve!

On top of one of the hills in the middle of the nature of southern Burgundy, surrounded by wooded areas, fields and other hills, about 45 minutes away from the A6 (Autoroute du Solail) in Chalon-Sur-Saône you will find our pitch . It is open all year round. On the orchard of a former winery (8000 m²) with mansion, outbuildings, garden and park are 4 pitches, separated by the fruit trees. Each individual setting offers a lot of free space. The entire property is surrounded by a wall. Motorcycle tourists, families with children, pets and horses are welcome, too! For the horses there is a pasture and stables (shared with our donkey).

Various benches, table groups and other resting places, especially in the park, invite you to linger. Enjoy the beautiful view and meet our numerous free-roaming animals. Whether it's pets such as dogs, cats, chickens, peacocks and a donkey, wild small animals and birds or our only neighbors, the Charolais Cattle, each one will curiously examine you. Over here you can expect a lot of nature, peace and relaxation and if you like, direct contact to the people of the country.

For motorhomes we have electrical connections. The supply of drinking water is also guaranteed. In the area of an annex there is a toilet, a shower, a lounge and a simple accommodation for extremely bad weather. An unloading point for dirty water is located about 10 minutes away and is easy to reach. It might be possible to rent a room in the main house.

Upon request, we can provide you with breakfast, lunch, dinner, coffee and cake or packed lunches.

There are many hiking trails, cycle paths, markets and festivals in this area. Activities like swimming, fishing, kayaking, boat trips, covered waggon rides, carting, etc. are also possible. Not far away are amusement parks, a zoo, a thermal bath, castles, archaeological sites (eg Bibracte), places of pilgrimage (Paray-Le-Monial, Cluny), museums, cultural institutions, restaurants, shops, etc. Excursions to Lyon (about 1 ¾ hours), Guédelon Castle (about 2 ¼ hours), Lake Geneva (about 2 ½ hours), Vezelay (about 2 hours) or the Burgundian wine region (about 1 hour) are also possible. You can even reach Paris within 4 hours. If you wish we can be your personal tour guide for some of the sights.

Please no smoking in the buildings, no excessive parties and treat our animals, us, our property, nature and the surroundings kindly. Respect your fellow campers, especially at resting times!

Whether you want to spend your whole vacation with us or are just passing through, we are looking forward to welcoming you soon!

Meet Christine, your host

Hello,

my name is Christine. I live with my partner Gérard in Uxeau, France, since 2011. Before that I lived in Germany, but my family comes partly from Poland and Czech Republic.

I am in early retirement and just recently became a grandmother again. My children are very fast with that ;-)

I love to travel. But my family all live in different parts of the world, so usually traveling means visiting them. I thought if I can not travel to all the places I want to, maybe some people could travel to my part of the world and let me help them to have a good travel experience. I am happy that gamping is giving me the possibility for that.

I speak English, German and French.

I hope to be able to welcome some gampers very soon!

Have a nice day
Christine

Angela & Tino recommend this place

The roads to the secret garden wind through the Burgundian landscape. Magnificent. This Campspace lays secluded between the meadows on the rolling hills. The welcome from Christine is warm and through the contact in advance we already knew that she had some delicious food ready. After this typical French aperitif we go to the table; an ultimate Campspace experience. The Secret Garden appears to be a big garden, electricity and water are present. The sunrise and sunset are breathtaking. Are you an animal lover? Then you will be greeted by two enthusiastic dogs. The rooster, chickens and peacocks roam happily around the camper and in the morning you will hear the donkey in the background.Christine and Gerard are extremely friendly people who are only too happy to show you the best places around the area. Christine can talk for hours about the different sights and stories of the area, fantastic if you want to know more about this region.

Michelle recommends this place

We enjoyed our stay every minute. We set up our tent in the backyard, with a view over the surrounding hills. The place is breathtaking, with animals everywhere. I collected so many peacock feathers (Christine told me to take them, as she had way too much). They are now standing on our table at home, a nice reminder of our stay in the backyard of the place of Christine and Gerard. Our hosts were incredible friendly. As we forgot it was Sunday, all supermarkets were closed and we didnt had any food with us. Christine offered us to have dinner with her and Gerard, she had some food left which we combined with our leftovers. It was pretty good, but the conversations were even better, as we stayed for almost the whole night sitting outside and talking (and of course drinking wine). We loved the way Christine and Gerard are running their beautiful place and we would recommend it to anyone. They had a rough storm just days before we came, but they managed to fix everything. We will definitely come back! Thank you so much Christine and Gerard and good luck with everything you told us :)

Emiel recommends this place

We had a lovely stay at Christines on our way back home from a one-month Europe round-trip. A lovely and comfortable Campspace with everything we could ask in between the trees in Christines garden. Such a lovely, relaxed and welcoming reception to start with and the pleasure of sharing life stories, drinkes and bites with Christine, Gérard and the other guests made the first night here a fantastic experience. Having the choice to do what we wanted, seeing our two buys falling in love with the animals at Christines place and going exploring with Christine, Gérard and the dogs made this a true mini-holiday during our travels. Cooking and having a BBQ together on the second night became an other true life experience for us and our two sons. To see our kids enjoy the environment, the animals, the rubics-cubes and the speaking in a foreign language that much and us exploring so many common interests, from cooking and baking to travelling and motorcycles, was an absolute pleasure. We would love to come back, both for the place and the environment as for the lovely people we met.

Rules

Please no smoking in the buildings, no excessive parties and treat our animals, us, our property, nature and the surroundings kindly. Respect your fellow campers, especially at resting times!
Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemie and the according sanitary rules, the use of the toilet/shower is restricted to one family at the time. Bookings of more than one family can only be accepted if they are traveling in a group or if some of them arrive with a Camper. In case there is more than one family at the time, guests with a camper should use their own sanitary facilities during the COVID-19 crisis. We are sorry for this inconvinience.
