About this location

High above the harbor entrance of IJmuiden, on the dune of the lighthouse, you will find a unique 1-room hotel with an astonishing view over the sea, beach and piers: the Seinpoststelling.
For decades, the signal box ensured that ships could sail safely to the harbor and locks of IJmuiden, the entrance to the Amsterdam harbor. After years of loyal service, the signal box became obsolete.
