The beach is within cycling distance, a 15-minute ride away. Three sheep roam the field, and they fertilize the soil at the same time. So, walking barefoot in the grass might be a bit awkward.

In spring and summer, our mini-campsite by the large ditch is open to nature lovers who appreciate a simple spot. There is a place where you can cook in the shade (cooking utensils included) and a few picnic tables. Handy for cyclists; you only need to bring a tent. We keep it small-scale because we want everyone who comes here to have space, feel at ease, and be able to camp just the way we would want to. We are a family of four; our two boys are sometimes happily at home. Those who are always there: the dog, the cat, a few chickens, and funny ducks. Two friendly sheep keep the grass short for us. In the field next to us, there is a donkey that can bray quite loudly, even at night, so please bear that in mind.

Tips

  • Cycling in the area

  • Thursday (summer holiday) to the folklore market in Schagen.

  • Schagen is a 15-minute bike ride away, nice shops!

  • Our favorite is beach pavilion 'South' where you will be treated to a great meal and a beautiful sunset.

  • Restaurant De Keuken in Schagerbrug. Great food and a nice terrace! Snack bar across the street.
