About this location

At the back of our very large garden, there is plenty of room to spend the night while enjoying the peace and nature. You sleep next to the horses, surrounded by greenery. There is also a small forest to spend time in. This is the ideal place to completely withdraw and find yourself, or to enjoy each other's company in peace. The horses keep you company. The view of the animals gives you the opportunity to observe them closely and enjoy the movements within the herd. These animals are so authentic and pure. Through them, you learn to enjoy the little things in life. If desired, you can help with their care. The horses are also used during coaching sessions, where they give you more insight into who you are. They show you what you need at this moment in your life to break certain patterns and make the right choices. They can also expose dynamics within a family or group. You can chat pleasantly about the day's experiences around the campfire. Furthermore, you can enjoy beautiful walks and bike rides in the lovely Hageland region. If you cross the street, you walk directly into the Demer Valley to get lost for hours in the beautiful nature. We live on the mountain bike route, so you head straight onto the gravel into the Demerbroeken. Your bike is safe and dry here under the shed or in the garage. The village center is 1 km away, where you will find a supermarket, bakery, cafes and restaurants, and bus transport. Other fun activities in the area include: - Canoeing down the Demer (full or half day) from Aarschot or Scherpenheuvel - Hiking in the Merode (Averbode Abbey) - Visiting Horst Castle (castle of the Red Knight) - Multi-day hiking routes to nearby bivouac sites (Rillaar, Walenbos) - Swimming in Lake Rotselaar or in indoor swimming pools in Rotselaar, Aarschot, and Heist-op-den-Berg. The charming city of Aarschot is also nearby. You can go there for cultural outings, delicious meals, cinema, pleasant shopping, and more.

We are a family with two daughters, 1 dog, 2 cats, 6 chickens and 4 horses. We recently moved from Antwerp to Betekom because we were looking for more peace, space, soil, grounding, biodiversity, slowing down and of course also room for the horses. In this place we can cherish our love for mother earth.
We are working towards being able to live as self-sufficiently as possible in the long term.
We do not want to keep this place to ourselves but would like to share it with others. Then feel completely welcome!
