Do you want to relax? Away from civilization? Then you are welcome in our idyllic garden all to yourself - the perfect base from which to discover the beautiful Limburg nature.

It is a beautiful, quiet place on the edge of the forest among the fruit trees. You have the entire garden (+ parking space) completely private at your disposal because we have two gardens. We call your part 'the orchard'. You can simply pick and enjoy the gooseberries, raspberries, plums and apples hanging there.

Our garden is perfect for people with a van or with a tent who want to enjoy nature back-to-basic. So you have the whole garden to yourself, surrounded by woods, with fruit on the property. Toilet is available, just no shower. Fire bowl for fun with wood.

You camp here between the Zwarte Beek Valley and the Teut and Ten Haagdoorn, the largest heath area in Central Limburg. Within walking distance you are directly in the woods for beautiful walks.
Here you are right on the bicycle junction network. By bike you are 10 km from Kelchterhoef and Hengelhoef, 17 km from Bokrijk and 20 km from Cycling Through the Trees. You can enjoy the delicious beers from Ter Dolen Castle within a 10-minute bike ride.

Our garden is accessible via a service road and is close to the forest. There is a good chance that you will spot some deer in the morning (or who knows, a wild boar...).

We are also happy to give you tips for excursions - after all, we enjoy our surroundings immensely.
I hope to see you soon!

Perfect for...

People who just want to be alone somewhere. People who like to explore nature on foot or by bike.

The place is hidden behind a new residential area, where you would never expect such a beautiful spot. A real surprise, with an orchard all to ourselves, right next to a forest! We got to see wild boars up close, scurrying in the woods - they can't get on the property because of barbed wire stretched around it at night. Every morning I heard birds of prey circling above, we were allowed to pick apples from the trees, take blackberries from the bushes, delicious!

Freia and her husband are very nice people, who received us very warmly, making us feel really welcome. There is no shower, but that was no problem for us, there is a garden hose with cold water: we brought a bucket and washcloths with us and turned their knight's tent into a mini laundry room that you could just crouch into. I thought it was super cool, but I don't think it's for everyone.
I will definitely come back when I go to Hasselt again!

How was the contact with the host?
Very nice, very cordial and casual.

Tips for new guests?
If you want to wash with the garden hose, take a bucket, a washcloth or something and something to make a laundry tent with.

hi irina,
I'm responding a little late, but I just wanted to thank you for your nice words, which you took the time for. I was also very pleased to receive you in our garden and enjoyed your ingenuity when it comes to showering. It's a nice attitude to see no bones in anything.

Just to set one thing straight: there is no barbed wire, but a thin electric wire. Sounds a little less scary haha

Love, free.

Warm welcome with flowers, thoughtful for birthday grandchild Sam. Child-friendly and exciting natural environment with deer, boars, and a marten (spotted with wildlife camera). in the morning a cheerful carillon of a local rooster choir. Great place to camp, plenty of shade, beautiful garden, tasty blackberries and much more...

How was the contact with the host?
Smooth and easy, willing to answer the many (children's) questions and.. good info!

Wonderfully quiet place, not only because of its location on the edge of a forest, but also because the garden is reserved entirely for you. So space, peace, and on top of that a table and chairs, an apple tree, berry bushes, a toilet, water and electricity. And a great host! Top spot.

How was the contact with the host?
Freia is very cordial and communicative, open for a chat and tips. We think she is a very nice host.

Beautiful, very quiet, secluded garden against the edge of the forest where you can spot a deer, or in our case, a wild boar with a bit of luck. In terms of facilities basic but very neat.

How was the contact with the host?
The host was himself on the weekend when we were there, so we were wonderfully alone. The contact was via SMS and Whatsapp and was excellent.

You can quickly reach Limburg's excellent cycling route network to cycle through the Trees and the Water in 2 days like us.

Very nice camping site in the backyard, nicely decorated on the edge of the forest and if you are lucky you can even see a deer appear in the forest. Both the beautiful evening sun and the wonderful morning sun at breakfast. Wake up wonderfully with a view of the forest. Very pleasant place to stay as a base to explore the beautiful region.

Very nice location to spend the night!
You sleep in the lightly healing garden, just on the edge of the forest. We heard the wild boars grunt, and saw one run away.
Don't panic, the car with camper/mobile home gets on the mini-hill very quickly.

How was the contact with the host?
The hospitality was outstanding. Very warm welcome, offered us an extra blanket, and fresh herbs from the garden. Thank you for the fresh eggs!

We had a wonderful weekend with Freia and her family. The garden is idyllic and very private located behind their house. Camping at the edge of the forest was great fun! How was the contact with the host?
Freia and Tim are very welcoming and very helpful. They thought along with us about practical things and had great tips to do in the vicinity!

Tips for new guests?
Ice at Rossi is a nice walk through the woods from 'camping Vranken'. And the Molenheide wildlife and walking park is also recommended for a nice walk with children. The area is also very good for a wild harvest meal.

Very cool campspace in a nice garden on the edge of the forest. You are all alone so a lot of privacy. There is also the possibility to make a campfire in the evening. There is water available and also a toilet that you can use. Within walking distance you are directly in the woods where you can take beautiful walks. You are also close to the cycle route network so you can easily go on bike rides. Lovely region by the way.

How was the contact with the host?
Freia and Tim are two hospitable hosts who make you feel at home. They will advise and assist you and also give many tips about the area. It all feels like staying with friends or family. Two toppers so we will definitely return to this campspace.

Tips for new guests?
There is really a lot to do in the area: Vallei Van de Zwarte Beek and do the red walk there, the nature reserve De Teut - Ten Haagdoorn and knit all the walks together there, the mine terrils of Heusden Zolder, b-Mine in Beringen, cycling with bicycle junctions, ... in short, an area where you will not be bored even with bad weather like we had. Definitely recommended is the bike ride to the Zwarte Beek and afterwards cycling in the area there. Numbers to the Teut: 308-316-300-305. Number to the Zwartbeek: 308-307-518. Certainly do
