Equipped tent
Dear reader,
We are happy to inform you that the camping season is also open in La Selvita 'the little jungle'!
We open our lovely spot in the beautiful forests of the Pays des Collines to you, to come and dwell in peace, between the song of the birds, the rustling of the trees, a flickering fire to warm you, all wrapped in lots of love to let you have a good time here, to recharge your batteries, to recharge with nature.
Our place is located in Flobecq, just over the language border at Ronse and therefore borders on the many forests that are rich in the Flemish Ardennes and Pays des Collines. Walks and bike rides are fantastic here and we are happy to help you plan them.
Children are also very welcome to come and play with us in the garden, which connects to our bush.
At the moment we have a camping spot for rent in our canvas bell tent of 5 meters in diameter.
The wooden roundhouse (last summer the yurt) is still under construction and will then also be available as a place to stay.
From time to time we will also open our forest bar and there will be occasional performances.
The bell tent is equipped for two people (double bed) and it is possible to add a cot or extra mattress. There is a campfire place, outdoor kitchen, compost toilet and fresh eggs from our chickens.
Dogs are wonderful, but unfortunately we cannot allow them on our spot.
Rental only possible from two nights.
Of course you can always contact us for more information!
Lots of love,
Steven, Daphne, Eliam & Taren

hey!
We are Steven and Daphne and live together with our beautiful small wild kids Eliam and Taren in a wooden cabin adjacent to the forests of Pays des Collines. We love to be outside in nature, take long walks in the area here, grow parts of our own food in our garden. Steven plays a lot of music, so sometimes you will hear some banjo or guitar tunes from our terrace... :)

Despite the wet weather, we had a great stay. The tent is super comfortable and the view over the forest is phenomenal. There are also many hiking guides available which is extra nice.
How was the contact with the host?
We were warmly welcomed by Daphne and Steven, I always had the feeling that I could ask questions.
Tips for new guests?
Be sure to bring comfortable shoes to get in and out of the tent, it quickly becomes a muddy mess :)

Wonderfully quiet place in nature. You are in the middle of the forest on your own hill. At the top the view of Steven and Daphne's beautiful chalet.
We have seen a deer in the forest, and in the night we also heard an owl.
Also the two cats that are there were sweet and entertaining. Have seen 1 or 2.5 meters run into a tree in pursuit of something.
The kitchen has everything we needed, also an oven and fridge are provided.
Fortunately, the dry season was over, so we were able to enjoy a fire yesterday.
How was the contact with the host?
We were welcomed in a friendly and open manner, were given a small tour. In the tent were, among other things, hiking maps, and we got plenty of tips about activities in the area. We were even allowed to use the wood for fire.
There is no drinking water in the kitchen, we had of course forgotten this, but Daphne was ahead of us by providing us with plenty.

Wow what a fantastic experience. Nice place in the middle of nature. Lovely outdoor kitchen, immaculate tent with comfortable mattress. Good sturdy outside 'toilet'. Super cozy lit up in the evening. Shame about the drought otherwise the perfect place to sing camp songs by the fire, but we'll come back for that!
How was the contact with the host?
very smooth
Tips for new guests?
Bring a hangable shower bag. Enough sturdy trees to hang it from.

I went into nature with my 12 year old son for a few days before he starts his high school adventure and our stay here was magical. It was warm, very hot, but there is no better place to sleep than in the woods. It was too dry for a campfire, but even without it it is wonderful to stay. In the shade of the trees, with the lights at night, it is just as you imagined when you saw the pictures. Comfort is basic, but that is also clearly described and there is more than enough. In the kitchen you will actually find everything you need. It would be complete for us with a tap on the garden hose. That's a little more controllable ;-). But we will definitely come back!
How was the contact with the host?
Smooth and very friendly!

We are kindly welcomed by the couple. We got a short tour and they gave tips to explore the neighborhood.
Tips for new guests?
Bring enough food and drinks so you don't have to leave this fantastic piece of nature ;)

This was the first stop of our road trip, this place is ideal for a night or two/three. A unique location in the middle of greenery. A very nice experience for adventurous campers. You had enough privacy and space between the trees.
There was a spacious belt tent on a platform that was attractively decorated, so that a little lower on the domain you also had room for a campfire. There was also an outdoor kitchen with a bar, fridge, gas stove, sink and some basic kitchen equipment. There was also a compost toilet and a dining area. Everything was also equipped with mood lighting for when it got dark.
How was the contact with the host?
The owners are very friendly people. You could ask a lot of questions, gave explanations and were helpful. They let you do your own thing, but also had time for a chat.
Tips for new guests?
- Camping is not recommended during a very dry period due to the dense vegetation, we had garden candles with us to sit around in the evening.
- There is (for the time being) not a shower, so bring your own camping shower. Can you wash yourself in the middle of the forest?
