About this location

Welcome to the BoppeTike!
The Boppe Tike is the old name of this region/neighborhood, which was once called that because it is located somewhat higher (boppe = high, in Frisian). The surrounding lands were excavated for peat extraction at the time. The name immediately tells something about the cultural history of this beautiful area.
Our yard is located on the edge of De Tike, a small village hidden on a dead-end road, rurally located in the scenic landscape of the Noardlike Fryske Wâlden national landscape.
It is a beautiful place in the center of Friesland, with lots of privacy, where you can enjoy a frog concert in the evening, count the stars on a clear night and where you are woken up by the birds in the morning...
The site covers almost a hectare and has several lovely spots where you can pitch your tent: do you choose a spot by the fire pit, near the pond or a little less at the back, nice and hidden among the shrubs?
After consultation, you can light a fire on the fire pit or take a refreshing dip in the pond.
If you don't have a tent with you or don't feel like setting one up, you can also sleep in the tree house.
There is also a TinyHouse for rent and the completely renovated and insulated barn (see Natuurhuisje.nl).
On the other side of the barn, a communal area has been created with its own kitchenette with refrigerator, combi oven, coffee maker and kettle.
You will also find the toilet and shower (separate from each other) there that you can use as a guest.
The village of De Tike has its own small harbor from where you can sail straight to De Leijen with your canoe, SUP or boat. You can also surf from the beaches around the lake.
In addition, it is an excellent base for beautiful cycling and walking tours to, for example, the National Parks the “Drents-Friese Wold” and the “Alde Feanen” around Earnewâld.
When people think of Friesland, people often think of sailing in the lake area, but it has much more to offer: go on a voyage of discovery and be surprised by the variety of nature with small picturesque villages and towns. A day trip to a Wadden island is also easy to do from here. You can experience culture in Leeuwarden (20 km) or Groningen (35 km), but you can also easily reach Dokkum and Sneek (both 30 km from here).
Oh yes... what you can also do: spend a day relaxing in the beautiful wellness of Burgum (8 km).

Will you also pitch your tent with us or spend the night at a height in the tree house? If you prefer to sleep in a real bed, opt for a unique experience and spend the night in the Droomdome with panoramic roof and fall asleep under the starry sky.
Do you like a little more privacy? Then book our nature house: a tiny house with all the trimmings.
There is a (swimming) pond with a beach, a campfire place where you can light your own fire and a bad weather facility has been made in the barn: a communal indoor area with kitchen, sitting area and dining table. You share the toilet and shower with the other guests.

    Beautiful swimming spots and beaches around the lake De Leijen and at Earnewald. In addition, there is a small swimming pond at the back of the garden with a slide, surfboard and beach.

  • Sightseeing

    Discover beautiful and very diverse national parks all around: You are in the Noardlike Fryske Walden. In addition, the Alde Feanen, the Lauwersmeer area and the Drents-Friese Wold are nearby.

  • Visiting nearby towns

    The Campspace is centrally located in Friesland, so all 11 cities are easily accessible from here. Groningen is also only half an hour's drive away.
