Tiny House
With the conveniences of the Randstad within reach, you are welcome in our permaculture garden, an oasis of tranquility. You are welcome in our wooden cottage, which we built ourselves with love. You will find the cottage at the very back of our garden via a path lined with edible flowers and plants. We view our garden as a place that is not just ours, but one we share with as many other animals as possible. I designed the garden based on permaculture principles. There are many native flowers and perennial edible plants. You are welcome to sample from our garden and enjoy all the little creatures that have found their spot. The cottage is deliberately simple and can actually be seen as a comfortable wooden tent. There is no electricity or heating, but a wood stove that you can also use for cooking if you wish. Outside, you will find a composting toilet with a water tank. Therefore, there is no hot shower. There is a single mattress in the loft. You sleep on this with your own sleeping bag. There is enough room to place your own mat next to it. We are campers ourselves. We prefer to have as little gear as possible, close to nature. We wanted to create this feeling with our little house in the garden as well. At night, you can regularly hear the tawny owl that lives in the village park behind our house. In the surrounding area, you will find beautiful nature and water recreation around the Kagerplassen, go birdwatching in the polders, hike in the woods and dunes, or enjoy the beach on the coast 10 km away. For museums and all kinds of facilities, you can be in Amsterdam, The Hague, and Leiden within 30 minutes. We live in the Bulb Region. In the spring, all the bulb fields in this area are in bloom.

Piano teacher and enthusiast of ecological gardening based on permaculture. We see our garden as a place for everyone, not just for ourselves. I have planted it in such a way that it is interesting for as many animals as possible. Together with Peter (guitarist and music technician), we have 3 children between the ages of 3 and 8. We like to travel with as little luggage as possible. Preferably with our tent.
