With breathtaking panoramic views over the entire Lesach and Gail Valleys, one of the most pristine valleys in the Alps, Hepi Lodge enjoys a tranquil location surrounded by nature. The region is a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts: hiking, climbing, bouldering, paragliding, kayaking, and in winter, ski touring and snowshoeing are all possible in the area. Just a few minutes away lies the Obergail Valley, a beautiful side valley with a small lake, working alpine huts, large boulders, a via ferrata through a mountain stream gorge, and a healing spring. Numerous gentle hikes, as well as challenging mountain tours and traverses in the unspoiled nature of the Carnic Alps, make Hepi Lodge in Obergail a perfect destination in both summer and winter. Our pitches are located in a quiet area near Hepi Lodge and offer plenty of space and magnificent views of the surrounding mountains. The site is particularly suitable for campers and vanlife travelers seeking nature, peace, freedom, outdoor activities, and a relaxing overnight spot with panoramic views. The bouldering wall, archery, table tennis, and fitness area in the barn right next to the Hepi Lodge offer space for exercise, training, and shared experiences – ideal for active rainy days.

Tips

  • Your perfect nature flow day starting from the hepi Lodge. Hike into the Obergeiler Valley, grab a bouldering mat from the rental box, and explore the bouldering area. Cool off in the cold mountain lake, then catch your breath.

  • Family Flow Day: Hike to the Steineckenalm, mushroom picking, kids in the eagle's nest. Alternating between trail running and training in the barn. Pepi checks your mushrooms – perfect dinner.

  • At the hepi Lodge farm shop, you'll find the best products from our permaculture garden, from our own vegetables to our CBD products. It's your local supplier of regional products in Obergail.

    From your pitch, a view opens up across the mountains of Obergail – vast, peaceful, unspoiled. You breathe in the clear forest air, hear the gentle rustling of the trees and the chirping of the birds.

    We are experimenting with permaculture cultivation of CBD hemp and vegetables at an altitude of 1200m. Our herb and vegetable garden is open to everyone. Harvest-ready fruits and vegetables with us.

    At the hepi Lodge, we've planted an orchard. Old varieties of trees, still small, are growing and thriving there at an altitude of 1200 meters. We've already proudly harvested the first fruits.
