About this location

Soul food. Our mini nature campsite is located on the edge of the forest in the Volcanic Eifel, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Back to nature, but with the comfort of a new sanitary building. Pitch your tent under the trees, or not; the choice is yours. We have two pitches above the meadow for caravans and campers. A small stream runs along one side of the campsite, and immediately on the other is the forest where you can hike endlessly. You can walk right to the caves – bring a flashlight! In the meadow, you might run into our two cats and chickens, who love visitors. Naturally, we have set up a fire pit. Just for the fun of it or to prepare your meal. Will you bring a guitar, djembe, or harmonica? Great fun! Next to the campsite is a nice playground for children, featuring a zip line, among other things. A walk of about 150 meters into the forest leads to an excellent restaurant with a lovely terrace to enjoy your German beer and schnitzel. If you are out walking or cycling with light luggage, we also have a fridge available where you can grab a drink. You will never be on the campsite with many people at the same time; the pitches are so spacious that you won't get in each other's way. It is possible that some socializing will develop, perhaps in the evening around the campfire? After 10:00 PM, please keep quiet for guests who appreciate that. At the campsite: 1x shower, 2x toilets, 1x urinal, 1x wash cabin, 3 tables with chairs, dishwashing facilities, stove with cooking utensils, plates, pans, glasses, cutlery, etc., playing in the stream, fridge with snacks if you don't have anything with you (for a fee). Right at the edge of the forest, actually surrounded by forest everywhere. Map with walking routes, tourist information. Surroundings: Kopp is a small, ancient rural village in beautiful surroundings, the third largest forest in Germany. The Volcanic Eifel is a fantastic holiday destination. Around 380 volcanoes surround you; the Eifel is the oldest volcanic region in the world. About 20-35 km away, you can swim in real volcanic crater lakes; the water there is also slightly warmer. Additionally, there is a similar number of castles, fortresses, and ruins. In autumn, this is the largest gathering place for red deer in all of Germany; the evening hours are anything but quiet then, with the deer rutting all around you—an impressive, primal sound. Ever seen the Milky Way? On clear evenings, you see more stars than you can imagine. -Restaurant 150m (not visible from the campsite) -Shopping in Schönecken, Prüm, and Gerolstein -Many hiking and cycling routes available -Trier, the oldest city in Germany, full of Roman remains, thermal baths, Colosseum, Porta Nigra, just under an hour's drive away. -Both Koblenz and Cologne are an hour's drive away.

Hello! We are John and Wilma. Eight years ago, we moved from the Netherlands to the Eifel. Last year, we moved on from Schönecken to Kopp because we came across a unique location. We live in an old watermill in the beautiful mill valley along the Fischbach. Here, we are busy building a food forest, a vegetable garden, and a mini-campsite. The mini-campsite is the only thing that is 'finished'; the rest is still developing. We ourselves really love a campfire; with good company, a beer, and a glass of wine, we call this a campfire party. We would love for our guests to share in the enjoyment of this unique piece of nature and this feeling of freedom. You are welcome. Back to nature for a while. Sometimes we spend a night in the Netherlands with family and friends, but we are always reachable by phone.
