About this location

Our small-scale farm campsite is located on the edge of the Rottige Meente nature reserve, spaciously laid out and surrounded by greenery. Laurel hedges, pollard willows, and fruit trees create a natural, rural atmosphere. Some of the pitches are paved, and the campsite is car-free, which contributes to peace and safety. Farm life is palpable all around you. Our sheep graze in the adjacent meadow, and with a little luck, you might spot hares or roe deer. Our cows and chickens are also part of daily life on the campsite and give the grounds a lively yet relaxed character. The campsite is ideally suited for those seeking peace and quiet, but children will also have plenty of fun here. There is ample room to play outside, discover animals, and ride around on go-karts. We do not like strict rules; with us, everything revolves around a relaxed and friendly holiday atmosphere. Step away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life for a moment and let yourself be carried away by the rhythm of farm life. As the sun rises over the meadows and the animals quietly awaken, you can sense the space, the tranquility, and the feeling of being outdoors here. There is always something going on at our campsite, often without it being immediately obvious: a curious cow looking at you, children playing in the yard, the soft sound of the wind through the grass. Every day here feels different, yet always relaxed and pure. Look, listen, and discover… sometimes the magic lies precisely in the small moments. Around the campsite, you can enjoy beautiful walking and cycling through two special nature reserves: the Rottige Meente and the Weerribben-Wieden National Park. Here, vast reed beds, swamp forests, narrow ditches, and open water alternate, making every trip unique. For walkers, there are quiet paths and boardwalks where you walk right in the middle of nature and can spot plenty of birds and other animals. Cyclists can enjoy varied routes along country lanes and beside the water, with beautiful vistas and charming villages along the way. Stand-up paddleboarding in Friesland is a relaxed and unique way to experience nature. Renting a SUP is easily arranged from our small-scale farm campsite. We rent out SUP boards and deliver them to a suitable spot in the area, so you can get straight onto the water without the hassle of transport. This makes our campsite a great base for those who want to combine camping and SUPing. The surrounding area features quiet canals and natural waters where you can paddle in complete silence, while we ensure the SUP board is ready for you on location. This allows you to enjoy peace, space, and nature from the water without a care in the world.

Our farm campsite is surrounded by meadows and has many fruit trees. We have a spacious campsite with paved pitches for motorhomes and a grass field for tents, caravans, or campervans. We do not have assigned pitches; everyone is free to choose their own spot. There is a disposal point for Porta Potti. The sanitary facilities can be used without tokens. There is Wi-Fi on the campsite. There is also a tea room with freshly baked cakes daily and various types of coffee and tea. From the campsite, you can walk straight into the nature reserve for cycling, hiking, canoeing, or stand-up paddleboarding. Giethoorn and Lemmer are also well worth a visit.
