A very pretty, well-kept campsite, which is well suited for people in tents as well as people in campers. Centrally located and yet rural, surrounded by fields with cows, goats, sheep and two alpacas. For children there is a trampoline, a slide and a sandpit, as well as a small chest with a few toys (table tennis bats and balls are also in it). The water - even in the showers! - can be set really hot and there is the possibility to wash dishes, two hotplates and a fridge-freezer.

How was the contact with the host?
Kathleen greeted us very friendly and showed us everything. She speaks German, English and of course Dutch (maybe other languages too, but I don't know). A highlight for our daughter was that the sheep had to be taken to another meadow. So Kathleen asked all the children on the campsite if they wanted to help. All in all, very friendly, quiet hosts who make you feel comfortable!

Tips for new guests?
Toilet paper is provided, but you must bring your own soap. We were there during the weekday high season, but it was very quiet and there were few other guests (many only stayed for one night). It got busier towards the weekend.
A great starting point for trips to Bruges or the Belgian coast! Both are about 30 minutes away by car. In a few minutes you can reach the center of Aartrijke, with a bakery, supermarket, post office and places to eat.

How was the contact with the host?

Spontaneously decided to take a break from the Netherlands for a few days and last minute we were able to stay at this nice campsite for a few more days. Nice atmosphere, beautiful places and good sanitary facilities.
In the smaller places you are quite close to each other and that was fine in itself, but we were unlucky that our neighbors smoked a lot, so that we unintentionally sniffed somewhat less healthy air than for which we had come to the countryside.

How was the contact with the host?
The owners are very friendly and helpful.

Tips for new guests?
For the Dutch: orientate yourself in advance on the environment. We have never been to the Flemish coast before and camped here during a heat wave. We thought that the area around Ostend was the Flemish equivalent of Zeeland, with quiet beaches and picturesque villages. We were wrong… If you want to have a nice and quiet bath, go to De Haan beach, but certainly not below!

How was the contact with the host?
Correct, friendly; nothing to complain about

Tips for new guests?
There is a small communal fridge; so easy on hot days.
With children: petting zoo 'd'Oude Smelterij Torhout', petting zoo Den Ast Lichtervelde, provincial domain Aertrycke (cycling, walking, playground), cycling along 'Groene axis 62' (Torhout - Ostend), Krinkelhof summer bar (incl. playground), Vloethemveld (walk 8.9 k)...

We were allowed to pitch our tent for 2 nights at mini camping t Veld. The campsite is located in a beautiful, relaxing environment. Our tent was set between the apple and plum trees. Facilities such as sinks, toilets and showers were clean and tidy. There are picnic tables, a ping pong table and a trampoline. And we liked that this campsite was centrally located for days out. An excellent base for exploring West Flanders.

Minicamping t' Veld is really a very nice place. Very green and beautifully designed. The sanitary facilities are great, and there are also additional options such as a table tennis table, fire bowls with wood or children's toys. Excellent!

A small minus point: if the place is fully booked, the individual guests stand very close to each other. But that's not a big problem - our neighbors were all very friendly :)

Good to know: there are two hikers' cabins on the campsite. In hiker's cabin 1 there is a bunk bed, a single bed, 2 chairs and a cupboard. In front of the hiker's cabin you have a grassy square with a picnic table. Behind it there is a covered area with lounge chair, table, fridge, electric fire and ping pong table. In addition, the showers and toilets. Toilet paper is provided.

Tell us about your experience
- Spent 3 nights on a mini campsite for the first time. The place and the facilities are ok, similar to the campsites we had been to. Because it is small, everything is close by.

- Unfortunately no wifi.
- On Sunday evening/night a car drove onto the site at 1.30 pm and there was chatter in front of the tent for at least an hour. I did not get the impression from the management that this was being monitored. I also did not see any regulations that stated the camping rules.
- I also object that all costs must be paid in advance. I have not experienced this until now. We came from Normandy and only had to pay afterwards. In the Netherlands you sometimes pay a deposit of about 10% of the expected costs.
Now you put all the risk on the guest, while doing business means running a risk. Moreover, the postseason had started. The 1st night there were spots left, the 2nd night there was only 50% occupancy and the 3rd night only 30%. So the argument to be able to rent the place to another guest doesn't count either.

How was the contact with the host?
minimal, but sufficient
