About this location

This is a place where it is truly quiet, truly dark, and where you can see a phenomenal starry sky. It is a place at the edge of many beautiful forests where you can hike and cycle endlessly and where you can feel at one with nature. It is a place where people are friendly and warm, and where you don't need anything.

This is a place where you can STAY in different ways close to nature, the forest, and among wildflowers and grasses, and where you can enjoy a wonderful breakfast. This is an adults-only holiday paradise.

Sleep in your own tent, or on the only camper pitch. Sleep in a furnished bell tent (glamping) or holiday cottage.

Sleeping
You can sleep in your own tent on a private spot sheltered by shrubs, overlooking a field of red clover towards the forest edge of the Schoonloo forest ranger area. These spots have a small jetty on the earthen bank with your own terrace from which you can, truly, see one of the most beautiful sunsets.

You can also choose to sleep in our furnished bell tent, which is beautifully hidden on a small hill among the trees. Overlooking the forest edge. In the tree in front of the tent you can sit in a real tree chair and spot deer, hares and cranes, and enjoy the sound of various birds of prey over the field. This tent is equipped with an outdoor kitchen and all necessities. You only need to bring yourself and your clothes!

For all spots there is a shelf in the fridge and/or freezer available. There is also a towel and soap for each guest.

If camping is not your thing, there are two atmospheric spacious 2-person rooms with private access, full of plants, a cosy seating area and furnished with nice old furniture.

Or come with your own camper to our only camper pitch, equipped with water and electricity connections.

If you want to be completely self-sufficient, book the Veldhuisje, a lovely comfortable holiday cottage for 2 people with its own kitchen, bathroom and garden with a hammock.

The accommodation is located directly on the Drenthepad, the oldest long-distance hiking route in the Netherlands. The Pieterpad is also just a few minutes' walk away.

These spots feature a small jetty on the earthen embankment with a private terrace from which you can—truly—see one of the most beautiful sunsets. All spots are approximately 6 by 6 meters and also have a wooden deck terrace on a small jetty on the earthen embankment marking the boundary of the plot. 't Verste punt (The Farthest Point): This tent spot has a slightly more open character and therefore catches a lot of sun. It is situated on the earthen embankment, and from the small jetty, it offers a fantastic view of the forest edge and, of course, the phenomenal sunsets. The spot has a natural separation provided by plants and fragrant rose bushes. It is therefore intended that the tent be placed with the opening facing the small jetty. This ensures a high degree of privacy. Conviviality and conversation can, of course, be found at the seating areas in the garden and the communal spaces. All spots have a power connection and a private access path. This section also houses the kitchenette with an indoor terrace accessible through the French doors. From here, Eva prepares breakfast, which can be booked for an additional fee. In the courtyard, there is an American-style refrigerator with a shelf reserved for every spot, in both the freezer and refrigerator sections. That saves you a cooler!

Somewhere on Eva's property, you will find this detached, self-sufficient, cozy cottage with its own entrance. It features a 40m² living/sleeping area with a wood-burning stove, comfortable sofa, and dining table in a pleasant, quiet, and natural atmosphere. Double French doors provide access to the terrace, garden, and hammock. You will find sun here all afternoon. You can close the linen curtains around the bed for a cozy sleeping space. Through the connecting door, you enter the kitchen, equipped with a dishwasher, refrigerator, induction hob, and combination microwave. Adjacent is the bathroom with a rain shower, separate toilet, and sink. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need to prepare a delicious meal. In the bathroom, you will find our homemade soaps and towels. The bed consists of two separate, comfortable mattresses on separate electrically adjustable bases. The bed is made up with recycled 100% cotton bedding. Dogs are welcome at t'Veldhuisje upon consultation. Please indicate this when booking.
