Are you looking for peace, space, an unobstructed view and do you want to enjoy the simple farm life? A place where you can escape from the hectic pace of everyday life? Then you are very welcome at our small, active dairy farm located on the Grote Gaastmeer in Southwest Friesland.

Advantages of our campspot:

- you will find peace, space and privacy
- there are 50 dairy cows in the meadow that are your closest neighbors on some days
- you can come and take a look at the milking in consultation
- we have a sweet farm dog, cats and a brown laying hen

- The cozy Eleven Cities town of Workum is 7 km away. Here you will find 2 nice eateries, 2 museums and 2 supermarkets
- the farm is located along the Sint Odulphus pilgrimage route

Hi, I'm Martin. I have a small, active dairy farm located on the Grote Gaastmeer in It Heidenskip (Southwest Friesland). The most beautiful spot in Friesland of course!
I milk about 50 dairy cows twice a day. In addition to all the work on the farm, I am interested in old-timer tractors. Landini is my favorite tractor brand.

Hi, I'm Esther. Keeping track of the advertisement page and the bookings, that's completely my thing. Traveling is my passion, then I feel free. In the summer season I sometimes stand with 2nd hand stuff at the car boot market in Hemelum. I enjoy that a lot.

If our work permits, we enjoy joint trips or a short vacation.

It was a great weekend. A beautiful and quiet place where you can relax. The view is beautiful and you can see the sun set in the evening. The cows, hares and the many birds make it extra special. Nice to have our own shower and toilet. A swimming spot at the lake would have finished it all off. We would love to come back

Camped for a few days at the back of the yard with Marten and Esther. I was received very hospitably and helpfully, the place is beautiful (behind a dike next to the large Gaastmeer) and spacious. Surrounded by green, blue and the animals on the farm! This is a good base to discover the rest of south-west Friesland (in my case by bike).

We had an amazing stay at Marten & Esther's farm. Located in the middle of farming fields, lakes and little streams, it could not have been more typical of the Frisian landscape. From our camping place we saw a few rabbits, some 'exotic' birds and ducks enjoying their time in the fields and lakes which made us feel reconnected to nature and the natural world. The views were great and there are plenty of activities to do in the area which made it a wonderful base for further exploration.

How was the contact with the host?
We were welcomed very kindly by Marten & Esther. They showed us where we could park the van, gave some small instructions and made us feel at home right away. They were clearly concerned with our wellbeing. Excellent hosts!
