About this location

Welcome to our cosy mini-camping in Oud Ade, at the edge of Leiden and in the heart of the Green Heart of the Netherlands! Here you can completely relax in a beautiful, natural environment and enjoy everything the region has to offer: historic cities such as Leiden, Delft and The Hague, beautiful beaches, museums, cycling routes and nearby lakes.

Our mini-camping has 22 lovely camping pitches with electricity and their own water tap. In addition, there is a homely shed and a spacious tarp tent that everyone can use. And what is a camping adventure without a campfire? On multiple fire pits you can together enjoy the warmth and conviviality of a campfire under the starry sky.

For children there is plenty of room to play. At the edge of the camping area is a large playing field with, among other things, a pétanque court, scooter track, large air trampoline and various play equipment. So children can have a great time burning off their energy, while the camping pitches themselves remain quiet and relaxed.

A unique stay with a historical touch. De Geus began as a SRV van, the iconic mobile convenience store that traveled throughout the Netherlands for years. Later, it became part of the 3 October Association and has now found its permanent home at our cozy campsite on the outskirts of Leiden. The name De Geus refers to the courageous Sea Beggars, who played a decisive role in the liberation of Leiden in 1574. Thanks to a powerful storm, they were able to relieve the city and drive out the Spanish occupation. On October 3rd, they entered Leiden with herring and white bread for the starving inhabitants. Now, centuries later, De Geus offers a wonderful stay, where history and conviviality converge. Come experience it for yourself! We are Arjan and Annelies, together with our six children the beating heart of this camping site. What was once Arjan's dream to start a camping, soon became our shared dream. Together we love the outdoor life, adventure and new challenges. We ourselves are also crazy about camping and like to venture out with our tent or with our yellow Fiat Ducato from 1993. Arjan previously had a successful construction company, Annelies worked as a management secretary and together we decided to create a place where everyone feels welcome.

In 2022 we opened our camping site, built from scratch on a meadow where sheep used to graze and since then we live here with our family. Combining a large family and running a camping site is sometimes an adventure in itself, but that is precisely what makes this place so special. During your stay you will probably meet one of our children or maybe they will welcome you personally upon arrival.

This is a place full of adventure, conviviality and freedom. You can camp here or stay in one of our cheerful accommodations or in our atmospheric converted caravan.

We love to share our passion for camping and adventure and hope that during your stay you will also take that special camping feeling home with you.
