About this campspace

Deventer is surrounded by beautiful farmlands. Here you will find estates, historic farms, avenue trees and of course the IJssel. This campspace is located in one of the hamlets around Deventer, just outside the municipal boundary.

There is room for one tent, which you can set up in the spacious garden next to the house or in the meadow, for a maximum of two nights. There is a private bathroom with a hot shower and toilet and you have access to a kitchenette.

You are always the only one here, so you have peace of mind. And I expect the same from you. By respecting the environment, we also keep it nice for the neighbors, because they live right next door. I have lived here for over ten years now and still enjoy the space and the view of the cows every day. I would like to share that with you. I also regularly camp with my tent, whether or not via Campspace.

What is there to do? In addition to sitting at your tent and watching the cows, the area is very suitable for walking, cycling or motorcycling. Various walking and cycling routes pass more or less in front of the door. Both long-distance routes (Hanzepad, Marskramerpad, Sallandse Zandloper. LF3) and various detours for walking. There is also a hiking network, a cycling junction system and a mountain bike network nearby. Come and enjoy the varied Salland landscape. As mentioned, the Hanseatic city of Deventer is always nearby, half an hour's bike ride away. The nearest supermarket is in Olst or Diepenveen, both about twenty minutes by bike.

Hello, I'm Hub (53). I live in a beautiful rural location in Salland (in my opinion) and like to share my garden and yard with the tent camper. I also do a lot of camping myself, whether or not via Campspace. Sometimes 1 night out for a real micro adventure in the area and a few times a year a little longer. The quieter the camping spots, the more I like it! I also try to offer that peace to the guest here.

Tips

  • Enjoy the neighbours' cows

  • The Hanseatic city of Deventer is worth a visit

  • The whisper terrace of Klooster Sion is a great place for lunch or a drink

Very nice to relax in Huub's backyard/pasture: peace and quiet, grazing cows in front of you and complete privacy. Unique to Huub's campspace: your own toilet (house) and private shower. It doesn't get more luxurious!

How was the contact with the host?
Huub is a very nice host. Is there for you if necessary, checks whether everything is going well and leaves you alone.

Tips for new guests?
Enjoy the 'monastery lunch' at the lunch of the Sion Monastery!

Our short vacation at Huub was a dreamlike experience.
Having a campsite and sanitary facilities all to yourself is an extraordinary luxury.
In addition, we had half the garden, including the toilet and washroom, and quite nice seating areas at our free disposal. While we only saw Huub from time to time on his terrace.

Everything was nicely prepared, the landscape around it was almost idyllic and the host was always friendly, so that in the end we were sure we had found the perfect campsite for couples with an outdoor affinity.

How was the contact with the host?
Huub was an exemplary host.
Very friendly and helpful when we had questions but otherwise let us take time off.

Tips for new guests?
The old town of Deventer is definitely worth a visit.
Otherwise we could have just let our souls dangle at Huub on the Gelende...

Beautiful, quiet camping spot under the trees in the garden near Huub - this on the cycling route LF3 from Kampen to Millingen aan de Rijn that I traveled this summer with my 13-year-old son. Equipped with all the necessary infrastructure: a toilet in the garden, a shower in the utility room ... and we were even allowed to warm up our pot because we were not yet equipped with a gas burner.

How was the contact with the host?
Huub is a very pleasant host! In the morning there was even an egg with a small note waiting for us in the pantry ... what more is needed to start the day with a good feeling.

We were the only ones in Huub's garden. Very nice. Own private sanitary facilities; very new and clean! The neighbors are right next to it but you can easily find a free spot. And you have your own picnic bench in a private spot. Beautiful area with many hiking trails and beautiful places. Great location!

How was the contact with the host?
Huub responds quickly, is very friendly, helpful and has many good tailor-made tips!

Have a nice weekend. With a small tent all alone. Arrival was very cordial. Just had an explanation. Beautiful spot, completely free. The good thing is that you are really alone. Shower and toilet are neat. Beautiful area where you can do shopping, take beautiful walks, and explore the area. If you like privacy and tranquility, this is an absolute must. Greetings Theo.

Nice place behind Huub's house, located between two farms with occasional activity. You can pitch your tent in the garden (under a tree in shade) or outside with all the privacy, along an adjacent meadow, where the cows are grazing at night not far away. The view is very nice. In the house you have a hot shower, a gas stove, etc. at your disposal and there is an outside toilet (see photos). Hub is a nice host. He doses the contact perfectly, is helpful and accessible and has good tips about the beautiful surroundings (not to mention free-range eggs every morning), The IJssel was too high to enjoy, too bad, but within walking distance you can take very nice walks in farmland or in beautiful forests. I had a great time with my dog Lela, thank you Huub!
