What a wonderful place with the best view ever in the Netherlands over the meadows! And now the bonus of a hot shower! And of course enjoy fresh milk, cheese and different types of yoghurt and custard, all of which are for sale.
How was the contact with the host?
Excellent, Jan is coming to meet all the new guests
Tips for new guests?
Take your bike with you, for example to cycle to Kinderdijk. Also many clog routes, unpaved walks through the meadows. You can also paddle board in the vlist in front of the farm or canoe

Very quiet, privately run campsite with lots of peace and charm for up to 20 campers. Jan also runs a small farm shop where you can buy fresh milk from his cows and fresh eggs in addition to butter, yoghurt and jam. Ideal for relaxation or to make smaller tours in the area.
How was the contact with the host?
Relaxed and friendly.

A nice quiet place in a very nice rural area. We were allowed to choose a place freely, because we don't need any facilities, we could stand all the way at the back, alone on the water, quiet, idyllic.
How was the contact with the host?
very friendly, attentive.

Nice quiet environment.
On arrival we were able to pick a spot to our liking.
Had a great time, partly because of the beautiful spring weather
How was the contact with the host?
Great experience, on arrival we were immediately welcomed and we were told the necessary things.
Our host did his best to create an electricity connection as he does not have a standard connection.
Tips for new guests?
There is no shower but for one or two nights that was fine for us.

Wonderful little site. We didn't need electricity and parked at the far end of the camper space, to be surrounded by small canals full of swans, herons and other birds, and with a view over meadows, traditional windmills and farm animals. At night it's completely quiet except for the noises of the cows (and don't forget to drink their fresh milk in the morning, available from the farm directly)
How was the contact with the host?
Jan is a great host and responds quickly both by email and by whatsapp/phone
Tips for new guests?
We cycled to Kinderdijk, crossing the river Lek a few times by ferry. Wonderful cycling over dykes and along the small canals.
Also visited a cheese factory near Bergambacht, selling the best cheese ever.

And yet also within walking distance of Schoonhoven.

A very nice place to visit 'the green heart of the Netherlands'.
Looking for a nice casual place appeals to us very much and the friendly and helpful Jan and family also provide a welcome feeling.
Nice places within cycling distance and Schoonhoven even within walking distance!
It was quite soggy due to the heavy rain, which caused several campers to get stuck. Where necessary, however, everyone was neatly pulled away with the shovel and all without a single murmur.
The location is nice and quiet and with beautiful views. Highly recommended!

Farmer Jan's mini campsite is located in the middle of a vast polder landscape. The spacious camping pitches have a beautiful view over the polder and a mill. Local products are for sale at the campsite, such as fresh eggs, milk and a cup of coffee or tea. The center of the silver city of Schoonhoven is within walking distance. The Old Dutch center is very cozy and definitely worth a visit. The area is perfect for a bicycle or canoe trip through the peaceful nature.

We experienced it as very positive, the peace and space are wonderful. The self-service farm shop is nicely done and very practical! We had to get used to the cow sounds. We will definitely come back someday.

Great place in a beautiful location. Toilet is neat. Vending machine with cheese, eggs. Freezer with ice creams. Easy payment with QR.
Power point only in the middle, if you stand further back you need a long cord. The price of electricity is not included in the Campspace price (was not clear in advance) €2.50 per day.

Fine

Wonderfully quiet, friendly people.
Only missed shadow spots (Fortunately we had extra shade cloth). Would have expected that from some trees. Delicious jam, cheese and eggs for sale which are located in a small house with a simple kitchen where you can also get coffee / tea and ice cream.
All in all a nice quiet place where we would go back again.
How was the contact with the host?
Fine, nice man. Didn't see much else, which was also unnecessary. Because in “the shop” you could also pay for everything online.
Tips for new guests?
Realize there is no shower and bring something if you want to create shade.

Fine. The freedom to choose your own place. In the evening Jan came to introduce himself and to welcome him.

Nice little location. I liked some things and I was disappointed in others but overall I felt out of time and that's what I needed. I came in a tent
Positive: having fresh produce from the farm on site, the setting in the polders, quick contact with the host
Negative: no shower, electricity cut several times
How was the contact with the host?
Alright
Tips for new guests?
Take a very long extension cord for the electricity, be careful, no shower.

Dear Jessica,
Glad to read that you enjoyed it. It is true that there was no shower, that is also stated on the site. We now have a shower and it can also be used. The power supply is indeed not optimal. We will work with that so that visitors no longer have any problems with it. If someone is short of cable, we still have enough that people can use. Greetings from Jan

A nice quiet place on the edge of the Vlist in the green heart. Enough space, clean toilet and a small shop with coffee/tea, drinks, ice cream, eggs and fresh raw milk.
At the time I was there there were only older people. 2 restaurants nearby where you sit on the quiet water of the Vlist. With good weather you can swim in the Vlist.
At night you can hear the cows and in the early morning the birds. Well worth it for an overnight stay.
How was the contact with the host?
I only saw Jan briefly on the first day and immediately got a number of tips.
How and where the camper was located did not matter to him because it was not (too) busy. 2 of his daughters always walked happily and greets continuously. It was very jovial.
Tips for new guests?
Fly swatter is not superfluous
Swimming shoes if you want to get in the water
Blocks to straighten your camper
Bring a reel if you can't stand close to the power pole (otherwise Jan will know something about it)

The camper place in Vlist at farmer Jan is very nice.
Good places alone, you should not have a too heavy camper. They were difficult to get out of the swampy ground.
Toilet fine, maybe a shower in time?
Small shop with good products from the farm. And friendly host.

We were received by a cheerful woman on the dike already. Very nice and warm. We found ourselves a place in the old orchard right next to a ditch. There is a toilet but no shower, we don’t mind that. Some vegetables from the vegetable garden can be bought, tasty fresh eggs and fresh milk from a vending machine. Colostrum is also available on request. The landscape is like an old school poster. The nights are dark and wonderfully quiet, in short, a must.
