About this campspace

We are Ilse and Jan, a biologist and forester with a passion for nature, ecological gardening, travelling and camping. We live in a small village on the edge of a large forest.

We would like to let you enjoy the wonderful place where we live in the heart of Belgian Limburg. Ecological living, living in harmony with nature, small scale and sustainability are so important for us.

We offer three camping spots in a large meadow full of flowers in spring and summer. In the evening you can hear the owls calling and bats are dancing over your head. You will fall asleep with the sound of the crickets. Sometimes you can spot deer on the meadow.
Every camping spot has a picknick table and a fire bowl. Central on the meadow you can find a mobile bathroom with a hot shower, a sink and a dry toilet. Eco-friendly dish- and showerproducts are provided. There is a small kitchen you can use. In the kitchen, there is also a small wood stove for the colder mornings or evenings. Water and electricity are provided at a central point on the meadow.

Kids can play in the garden. There are swings and a trampoline.
We have a lot of animals on our litte farm: sheep, chickens, ducks, turkeys, a cat and our sweet dog Sien (who is a Border Collie).

In the forest you can make wonderful walks or bicycle tours. The National Park Hoge Kempen is only 7 kilometers away. And also the beautifil Landscape ParK ‘De Wijers’ with 1001 ponds is only 15 minutes driving.

In our village you can find a small supermarket and bakery at 2 km.
We speak Dutch, English, French and German. Dogs are not allowed.

Ilse and Jan offer a really special pitch on their idyllic flower meadow. Their sheep graze on the neighboring meadow. It's a very quiet and relaxed piece of nature, and in the evenings there's an extensive frog and sheep concert. :-) Perfect conditions to relax and unwind. There are also many opportunities to be active in the vicinity. Definitely a place I would love to come back to.

We are a couple in their thirties who started our first campspace adventure together with our children aged 4 and 2.5 and a friendly couple with small children. We had our eye on the micro campsite of Ilse and Jan and we have not regretted it. This micro campsite had everything we were looking for: peace and quiet, beautiful nature, basic comfort (toilet and shower, limited electricity) and above all the possibility to keep a campfire. A sustainably thought-out mowing land (instead of a trimmed lawn) next to a meadow of sheep, on the edge of a large forest, formed our camping site. When the world turned off the lights, various animal sounds came from this forest.
All this contributed to an (especially for the children) adventurous camping experience that resembled wild camping. The children had plenty of room to play and in Jan and Ilse's garden they soon found the trampoline and play equipment.

We first had contact with Ilse. Via chat we received an answer to all our questions very quickly. Also on arrival Ilse made herself known as a pleasant hostess. After we had set up our tent, Ilse also came to see if everything was in order.

We had a great time with Ilse and Jan. A very nice camping spot under the oak tree and with a view of the sheep made it complete. Ilse is a very nice hostess who occasionally checks if we need anything. An absolute must for anyone who likes being in nature.

In Bilzen, we enjoyed a very friendly welcome, quiet environment and beautiful nature around us. We went cycling through the water and had an ice cream in the summer bar near Alden-Biesen.

Guests who cancel at least 14 days before check-in will receive a refund of the amount paid by them (excluding Campspace fees). If they cancel between 7 and 14 days before check-in, they will receive a 50% refund. Otherwise they will not be refunded.
