About this location

Dream place for nature-loving campers in the countryside at the Gaboldsmühle
We offer two parking spaces in the middle of nature at the Gaboldsmühle. The mill is still partly in a deep slumber. We would be happy to show you the mill tower (almost "everything" still looks the same as it did back then. You immerse yourself in a completely different world).
1. One parking space is in the middle of the orchard. There are old apple and pear trees here. You look directly at the fields. If you are lucky, rabbits and deer will come into direct view.
2. The second parking space is directly on the Franconian Saale on the mill island. You can see the evening sun going down and the light reflected on the water. From there you can see the village of Großeibstadt and hear the church bells ringing.
A fire bowl with wood is available for both pitches.
Drinking water, toilet and electricity are available. You are welcome to bring your pets with you.
Do you want to discover the area?
You can drive into the beautiful and powerful Rhön. The Kreuzberg (mountain of the Franks) with its Kreuzberg monastery to stop off and have a snack is definitely worth a trip. Here you will find many well signposted hiking trails.
Another destination is the Wasserkuppe (mountain of the aviators). The climbing garden and the summer toboggan run on the Wasserkuppe are ideal for children. A detour to Thuringia would also be possible. The city of Meiningen, the Thuringian Forest, the Rennsteig and of course Oberhof with the biathlon arena.
In our village there is a baker, a butcher, a pizzeria and a wonderful café on the cycle path within walking distance (opening hours: Wed/Fri/Sun 3-8 p.m.)

The spa towns of Bad Königshofen, Bad Neustadt ad Saale and Bad Kissingen with their beautiful thermal baths and sauna area can be reached in a few minutes.

Hi - great that you're interested in our place. We, along with my husband Stephan and our son Hannes, have completely renovated the farmhouse. After two years of tiny-house living on 24 sqm during the renovation phase, we moved into our house at the mill in April 2022. We ourselves are regularly on the road with our camper and know what matters when camping.
We also share our farm with rabbits, guinea pigs, chickens and cats.
We are creative minds, doers, love people and encounters and constantly reinvent ourselves.

Feel like a little hike? A walking trail "Großeibstädter Seelenstühle" runs directly past our place.

Tips

  • The quiet and secluded location here is unbeatable. Here you can just be with yourself, read a book or maybe even write your own. Spending time with your family without much distraction from the "normal world". Our rooster Henry wakes you up in the morning. In the evening it just gets quiet and you hear "nothing". Is not that great. So open up - we look forward to seeing you "Sun in the heart"

  • A hiking trail "Seelenstuhl" leads right past our site. In our village there is a charming cafe "Die Anstalt" directly on the cycle path (opening times Wed/Fri/Sun 3-8 p.m.)

  • In Bad Königshofen there are small shops and many opportunities to go for a relaxed breakfast.

  • In the village there is a nice little garden cafe "the institution" and a pizzeria. Both easily accessible on foot
