About this location

We have 3 beautiful safari tents placed at a good distance from each other.
These tents are fully furnished. The 2-person tent has a lovely box-spring bed, a kitchen, dining area, beautiful lighting, a wooden floor, a veranda with lounge seating and rocking chair. In front of the veranda is a 2-person hammock, and in the garden next to the tent is the bathhouse with a luxury shower cabin, sink and toilet. Here you will also find a cozy 2-person hot tub.
The 2 other tents are 4-person, each with 2 bedrooms with comfortable 2-person beds, a living room, kitchen and bathroom in the tent. The bathroom features a luxury shower cabin, sink and toilet. These tents also have a wooden floor and a veranda with lounge seating and rocking chair. You also have access to a 2-person hammock at these tents.
On the wellness plaza you will find a large hot tub and a Kelo-sauna, both wood-fired, a cold outdoor shower and an ice bath.
Wellness facilities can be booked for an additional fee.
Our savanna system is a very special form of Agro-Forestry, a forest-farming system with many nut and fruit trees where we grow pure nature vegetables.
You will find fantastic skies, beautiful views, magnificent starry skies and peace. We are located in an old farmhouse from 1869 on a property whose history dates back to the 15th century. Surrounded by a moat. A special cultural-historical place with free-roaming chickens and wild ducks.
Delicious organic breakfasts with products from our own farm and region are available, and on request you can enjoy a shared dinner.
You can cook well in the tents, the kitchens are well equipped for this. You can also cook outside, at the fire pit. There you can cook over the campfire on a cast-iron griddle on legs or the tripod with a large grill grate on chains or a cast-iron pan over an open fire to your heart's content.
If desired, you can receive an extensive tour of the savanna or through the farmhouse.

In the wider area there are many fun activities, but nearby is the lively student city of Groningen where there is plenty to do and see.

All our toilets are compost toilets, so that all nutrients become food for soil life again through our composting system. This saves us 50% of the total drinking water consumption. The remaining 50% is added to the soil water precisely due to the lack of toilet water after biological treatment in a septic tank. We wet nature with it and no pump or mechanical energy is needed in the water treatment plants for our water. We apply regenerative agriculture where all attention is on feeding the soil life. We use a lot of second-hand stuff, everything that doesn't have to be made costs no energy and no raw materials.

Cancellation Policy

Guests who cancel at least 30 days before check-in date will receive a refund of the amount paid by them (excl. Campspace fees). If they cancel between 14 and 30 days before check-in, they will receive a 50% refund. Otherwise they will not be refunded. If the host does not accept the reservation, guests will receive a full refund.

Rules

Unfortunately, pets are not allowed. From 22.00 hr it must be quiet for our neighbors, the other guests and the residents on our site. Do not take any drink into the sauna other than water. You can stay naked on the wellness square.
