My garden and I live in Clapham South West London.I am an ex caterer and traiteur and my interest in food and hospitality seems to carry on. I also have some local property as well as this secret garden full of foxes, squirrels, bees in their hives, magpies, wood pigeons, sparrows and a selection of tits. It is too good a place to keep to myself and so we share it with friends and neighbours and hopefully more campers.

We really enjoyed. You can walk to many places like Brixton, Buckingham palace, battersea park. The bus is also a nice option to see everything. The garden is very relaxing and the neighbors are also all social persons and are happy to help you.
How was the contact with the host?
Fantastic, we had a nice chat and drank a glass of wine. Pamela is a nice woman and very social, just like the neighbor who helped us…. Thank you Pamela and Kees

Take the walk because then you will also see the real London. Also visit Brixton with its Caribbean roots. Sit in a park with a drink, very cozy

We had a great stay. The garden is beautiful and well cared for and we really appreciated the hot shower. It's a great location with lots going on in Clapham within a short walk and easy transport links into the city centre.

Great, we felt well informed. The host was away for the weekend but the instructions to access the space were clear and easy.

The hostess, Pamela is helpful, practical, attentive, caring and great fun to talk to. What a privilege to join up with London life in this way. To enjoy your stay here, be open, be supportive and considerate and you’ll have a fabulous time in this lovely garden base - in between excursions back and forth to the other the joys of London.

We had the most wonderful stay in London in Pamela’s garden! It was truly an oasis in the middle of the metropolis. I loved waking up, hearing the birds and seeing the bee’s hovering around the flowers.
How was the contact with the host?
There are not enough adjectives to describe how lovely Pamela is. She offered coffee and fresh figs from the garden on arrival and invited us to sit at the garden table with her. She was so friendly and helpful, and very knowledgeable about both London and her true passion, food.
Tips for new guests?
There is a bus stop on Wandsworth road, which is a two minute walk from the site. You can get the bus straight to Sloane Square from there. Also I don’t find the unlimited trip tickets are very good value for money as public transport is so cheap anyway! Make sure to get the boat (commuter not tourist) to see London from the Thames!

Pamela was super kind in accepting our last minute request and accommodated us arriving at 9pm in the evening - still offering us a drink and a friendly welcome at the late-ish hour. This space is a secret garden-oasis, it is just so beautiful there with a variety of plants, trellises, flowers and wildlife but also with comforts such as a fridge and a comfy sitting area. The garden is behind locked gates and also hidden away from sight - so despite being almost in central London, it felt very safe. We kept our shoes inside the tent as advised by our host, and had our food in the car and in the on-site fridge, so had no issues with foxes. Thank you Pamela and wishing you a great rest of the summer season! :)

We stayed 4 nights in pam's lovely garden and everything was like described.
Very big and well equipped kitchen, an outside shower and toilets. You shouldn't be afraid of sharing your bathroom with some spiders and insects ;)
London's city center can be easily arrived by city bikes (station two minutes away from the house) or public transport (bus and overground).
How was the contact with the host?
Very easy, trustful and fast communication with Pam.

This location is a hidden oasis in London. We were greeted with the host's warm smile, the sound of chirping sparrows and the taste of tangy blackberries freshly picked from the garden. We definitely look forward to returning next summer when the roses and elderflowers are in full bloom. Warning: remember to keep your shoes inside your tent; there's a local fox that has made a habit out of stealing them!

Martjin, thanks for kind words. Do come back in Spring or summer and we can have a jolly supper round the fire pit and drink chilled wine from the outdoor Frig. Thank you too for the fox alert. P

Positives: communication with the host was good, nice garden space, easy bus ride into London. Appreciated use of kettle inside house.
Negatives: we had a bag of food dragged away and eaten by foxes. A pair of Keen sandles also completely bitten through, also the outer of the tent. We are currently trying to get sandles and tent repaired. Host has said she will pay for the tent repair. Feels reasonable to pay for the sandles too. I've camped all over the world, including in bear country, never had this happen. If the foxes are that active, host need to warn campers.
Thank you

Frustrating because I couldn't stay there due to issues with communication. Then frustrating trying to get a refund due to further issues with communication. I ended up being out of pocket and having to make alternative accommodation arrangements at the last minute.

Marcus arranged to arrive during the afternoon. We prepared and waited to welcome him but he never arrived. Unfortunately he found and called a phone number for a landline which is in my bedroom. I am not in my bedroom during the day and at this time we were in the garden so the phone was unanswered . Marcus chose not to come and to find another site. Fortunately it was Pride weekend so lots of friendly parties and accommodation. I am sad we did not meet Marcus and his partner from Somalia and hope they had a happy weekend. Campsite should be in a position to refund his money although the booking was a non refundable one since he only gave notice well after his due arrival time. I trust his long travel was pleasurable and he enjoyed the UK and the colourful and vibrant festival that is Pride.
