About this location

Welcome to Rubbertsmühlenhof! We're so glad you found us. You're welcome to camp here with up to 10 people and multiple vehicles. Amenities 🧖‍♀️🛁🌿 🔅 Private bathroom with toilet/shower 🔅 Sink 🔅 Refrigerator: drinks & eggs 🔅 Fire pit 🔅 Shelter (e.g., for bicycles) 🔅 Small sandbox 🔅 Mood lighting Services/Offers 🤝✨ 🔅 Barrel sauna & rain shower 🔅 Firewood (or bring your own) 🔅 Barbecue (or bring your own) 🔅 Guided shamanic journey 🔅 Vintage tractor ride Location & Character 🌳🔥 Your pitch is located on the east side of our farm in a large meadow. You'll be camping between two willow trees with a view of our mill tower and the farm buildings. Our barrel sauna and rain shower under the linden tree are right nearby – you can use the sauna by arrangement. You can also borrow our fire pit and – if you like – bring your own fire pit or grill. Young fruit trees of old varieties from a NABU (German Nature and Biodiversity Conservation Union) orchard project stand at the edge of the meadow – feel free to help yourselves to the fruit. A growing miscanthus hedge provides privacy and reduces noise. You'll have a view of our farm – we occasionally flit into view, and sometimes a piece of farm equipment is running. Sounds & Atmosphere 🌿 You'll be close to nature acoustically: kestrels, owls, songbirds, and corvids can be heard clearly, and the wind rustles in the trees. A main road runs about 100 meters away; depending on the weather, season, and time of day, traffic noise may be more noticeable or barely audible. Our guests find the blend of natural sounds, a touch of farm life, and occasional traffic noise harmonious. Mill Tower & Wildlife 🐦🐇 🐐🐈 Our mill tower (built in the late 1800s) lost its sails early on due to a fire. Until the end of its operational life, the mill was powered by a combined heat and power plant. Today, the tower is a historical monument and a nesting site for kestrels; in spring, you can observe their young. At night, you'll often hear owls, and during the day, many songbirds and corvids. Hares and pheasants frolic in the meadows, and with a bit of luck, you might spot a deer. We also have two elderly goats, Azrael and Lavender, and our cat, Katinka, who even travels with us on holiday in our 40-year-old camper van. Arrival and Departure 🕞 Arrival: - Mon-Thurs from 3 pm - Fri-Sun from 2 pm Departure by 1 pm Excursions 🚲🌳🏙️: I've put together a small booklet with places of interest, which I'll send you with your booking and which you can use for inspiration. Dear guests, we are Markus and Andrea. Markus (my husband) is very connected to the earth and nature. I (Andrea) have shamanic training and also love nature. We see our farm as a place to slow down. We are no longer a commercial enterprise, but primarily use nature's bounty for ourselves – and our guests are welcome to share in it. We are vintage vehicle enthusiasts (including John Deere tractors from 1937 and 1968) and self-sufficient with a large vegetable and fruit garden. We enjoy traveling in our 40-year-old Mercedes camper – these days always with Katinka on board.
