We stayed at the tipi under the willow tree for one night, listening to the wind rustle through the leaves, accompanied by the sound of rain on the canvas. We enjoyed the peace and quiet on this little private island.
Our host was immediately present to give us a tour of the domain upon arrival, giving us information about how they try to make this community a safe space for all, being as ecological as possible (big + !!)
We need more spaces like this, where we can connect with ourselves, like minded souls and mother nature.
We’d love to come back here sometime!

The campsite is located in a quiet and charming area in the French countryside. We arrived there by car and there was plenty of parking space. The site itself is also very charming, the reception is in a 200 year old farmhouse and it has loads of character. When we wanted to set up our own tent, we found out that parts were missing, luckily the campsite owner had tents that could be borrowed. Although the campsite was very quiet during the day, the air conditioning of the farm next door turned on at night, unfortunately this broke the silence, but it was negligible and not very annoying.
The ground we lay on was bumpy and there were many friendly animals that woke us up early in the morning.
In general, a very nice campsite, but not for your average camper, this campsite is intended for nature lovers.
How was the contact with the host?
Very good, the host spoke Dutch, English and French. He was very nice and immediately helped us when we needed help

Enjoy the peace you can find here, it is rare these days

L'île de Bambecque is a beautiful natural refuge to let the soul linger and to take a break from daily life. I was kindly welcomed by his host Ruben, who gave me a tour of the farm.
For a free donation it is possible to pick some of the fruits and vegetables, that one can find everywhere on the whole farm area - I definitely recommend you to do that and taste all those beautiful creations of nature.
This place is perfect for a (solo) getaway, camping in privacy, meditating, watching animals, eating great food and getting to know amazing people.
Thank you Ruben and family, for sharing this idyllic place with us !

Beautiful, quiet and cozy campsite.
Very clean sanitary facilities.
We had rented an empty Tipi tent for 3 nights. No dragging and hassle to bring and set up a tent. The tent looks small from the outside but is surprisingly spacious. In short, highly recommended!

Very beautiful Campside and we loved the animals. We didn't need an alarm clock because the roosters will wake you up just in time (to see the sunrise) ;). The toilets and showers were super clean.
Maybe the Guests should be imformed more specifically not to bring chemical/perfumed shower gels or light open fires in the woods.

The Bambecque Island campsite is a small haven of peace. Beyond the possibility of camping on a magnificent and peaceful site, the sustainable agriculture project that they are setting up is very beautiful.

Our caravan was beautifully shielded under a tree. Anyone who wants can taste / take the vegetables of the day in the "shop" for a voluntary contribution. Everything shows the love for the land of the hosts - even the well thought-out water system. And - very nice - clean sanitary facilities.
If you want to take a dip somewhere, or want to go to a restaurant for an evening, you have to go out and about. There is little to find in the area. (This can also be a plus, depending on what you're looking for.)
