I had a wonderful autumn week in Pim and Bert's orchard. It's very cozy and the garden is just really interesting. In addition to flowers and vegetables, there are very special fruit trees. I was allowed to taste all fruit and eat as much as I wanted. I thought that was very nice and very generous. I also liked that there was a toilet and hot shower. Since I was the only guest that week, I had everything to myself.
How was the contact with the host?
Pim and Bert are perfect hosts. They provided me with maps, pointed out events and also told a lot about the landscape and villages of Zuid-Beveland. I learned a lot about the orchard, its history and what is special about it.
Tips for new guests?
Nisse is a good starting point for both hikes and bike tours. I liked that it's a small village, not overrun with tourists. I pretty much only rode my bike. There are many dykes on which cycle paths have been laid out. This means you always have a good overview and outlook. Beach life is not directly in front of the door (about 20-30km away). But you have a quiet, original environment here.
