About this location

Welcome to Berkeley, California! Our bungalow home with a large landscaped back garden is located in a quiet area of North Berkeley just one block from a BART (our metro) station, making it easy to get around the San Francisco Bay Area. We are a friendly household of 2 residents who are always ready to help make your stay special. In addition to our guest tent, we also have a guest room where we host visitors, so there can be up to 4 of us here. Folks have loved our tents for over 10 years, and we love hosting. Come stay with us and enjoy our urban oasis!
Our tent is located in our large, private, and quiet garden in the North Berkeley flatlands, very close to public transport options. The garden has been developed by the owner for the last 37 years and is filled with ornamentals and mature fruit trees, with chairs and tables for relaxing, working and eating. The WiFi works throughout the garden.
The activities
Visitors come to Berkeley for various reasons, including the large and beautiful University of California, our 2 local botanical gardens, climbing and hiking in the hills, water sports at the Marina, wellness workshops and services, and the eclectic history. San Francisco, with all its charms and famous sights, is just a 30 minute BART ride away.

This listing is for our original guest tent, which is located in a private alcove in the back of the garden with its own sitting area. It's a cabin style tent with almost vertical walls, a 7' center peak, and 65 sq ft of floor space, making it a nice little room for 1 guest, or for 2 in a pinch. It has a real single bed with an excellent mattress and quality bedding, rugs on the floor, a small bedside table, and battery powered lights. Very comfy!
The sanitary facilities
You will have 24/7 access to the house, including the kitchen and bathroom. No showers after 10pm or before 6am. One shower per day allowed to conserve water.
The amenities
Our internet covers the whole house and garden, you're welcome to use our well-furnished kitchen for light cooking, and we have a charging station inside the house for your electronics. Please note that there is not power in the tent. Washer and dryer are available for a small fee.

Cancellation Policy

Guests who cancel at least 3 days before check-in date will receive a refund of the amount paid by them (excl. Campspace fees). Otherwise they will not be refunded. If the host does not accept the reservation, guests will receive a full refund.

Rules

• Maintaining the usually quiet atmosphere here is very important to our ability to host. Please use earbuds for listening to music or streaming, and no speakerphone conversations.We will have to ask you to leave if you are unduly noisy. • You will be expected to clean up after yourself in the house, garden, and tent. • No food is allowed in the tent to avoid attracting ants and wildlife. • No smoking or candles or open flames are allowed in the tent, smoking is okay in the garden as long as it doesn't upset any other guests (it's a large garden, plenty of room for distancing). • You may come and go 24/7 • Access to the tent is always through the house rather than the side gates. • Respectful moderation in use of alcohol and cannabis (NO hard drugs permitted on site) is requested. If you become loud and unruly, you may be asked to leave.
