About this campspace

Monte das Louzeiras is located near the Spanish border, between Seville (180km) Serpa (16km) in the Serra Adiça nestled in a 40 ha olive grove with trees around 300 years old and a vineyard. On the farm you will also find sheep, horses, dogs, cats, geese, chickens, peacocks an ostrich and much more. We produce our wine in amphorae and oak barrels. In our store you can find besides wine: olive oil, piri piri, honeys, cosmetic products from olive oil, vinegars and flavored salts and oils. We are a family business with Swiss and Portuguese roots and welcome you from the end of April until the end of October.

In our park/garden we offer breakfast, petisco (local snacks) or even a barbecue. You are welcome to use the pool with terrace as well as the spacious patio surrounded by orange trees. We will be happy to serve you our wines or other drinks at sunset.

On the nearby river Guadiana with the gorge Pulo do Lobo or the Alqueva, the largest reservoir in Europe, you can discover the impressive landscapes by canoe or boat. On foot you can reach the small village of Vale de Vargo. With a 30 min drive you can reach the small town of Serpa where you can visit cultural events or museums. It is considered the capital of the Cante Alentejano, a traditional choral singing of the region recognized by UNESCO as Cultural Heritage of Humanity since 2014.

What a great place to camp with your tent, motorhome or caravan. Find a place between the olive trees and plunge into the swimming pool with a view over the 'oasis'. The food is great, the wine is delicious.

I loved everything about it! Although the weather didn't play along, I had a very nice time, was able to visit a few things in the area, but still used a day to just relax.
The parking space is large and you have enough space/privacy to the other guests. Shower and toilets are separate and were always clean and generally in very good condition! The joint BBQ with the family and other guests is highly recommended because both the food (really every single course) is incredibly delicious and the conversations were very lively and informative!
On the entire property you can marvel at a large number of beautiful and healthy animals, some of which also roam freely on the premises. The garden as well as the courtyard and pool area are very well maintained and invite you to linger and relax. The hosts provide play facilities (volleyball court, Viking chess, boules/bocce etc.) and there are various books (architecture, countries, etc.) in the interior seating area that you can borrow. You can also purchase the previously tasted harmonious wine, fine olive oil and tasty Piri-Piri sauce or various regionally produced body care products in a shop area (or online).
I can only recommend everyone to stay here for at least two or three (and preferably more) nights and get to know the area and really enjoy the amenities on site!
I can't wait for my next visit!

How was the contact with the host?
Marc and his family were incredibly nice! You could learn a lot from and about them both during the day and during the food talks and it never got boring.

Tips for new guests?
Bring time and enjoy your stay to the fullest! :)

Marc welcomed us warmly with a small tour of his paradise. We could choose a place for the tent under an olive tree of your choice, there was plenty of room. Then chill out in the pool. And then the highlight, dinner, with all guests at a long table in the garden. With fantastic food and great company, this was a highlight of our cycling trip.

How was the contact with the host?
There was excellent contact in advance and on site. Marc and his wife are warm-hearted people for whom nothing is too much trouble.

In French they say: Vaut le voyage (worth the trip). And that's really what this was. Staying here has been such an amazing experience. It's beautiful, serene, magical and the perfect place to relax. You're surrounded by the best nature has to offer. Marc & Ana Luisa are amazing people & it was lovely all-around. We enjoyed it very much. PS: The breakfast & dinner is delicious!

How was the contact with the host?
Really amazing. No complaints. Amazing people.

Tips for new guests?
Stay longer! We were ultimately very regretful we didn't add another day ;)
