About this campspace

The Cauterhof used to be the site of the scouts of Serskamp. In the meantime, the scouts have moved to another location and we have refurbished the site and especially given the beautiful view of the open fields of Serskamp. You are in a closed space behind the houses with a beautiful view of the fields of Serskamp. There is a separate access road so you don't have to take anyone into account. The village of Serskamp is within walking distance (600m) and you have a bakery, caterer and a cafe there. You can also do your shopping at the local farmer "de season barn". The area has many signposted walks and also mountain bike trails.

Perfect for...

Hikers, cyclists, groups of friends, families

We are adventurous campers ourselves. I, Marieken, have always camped with my parents. After that I first bought a campingcar with my husband Kristof, but since our adventure in Australia with our family we switched to an old-timer camper. We do not like to be on large, busy campsites and we do not need luxury, which is why we now also want to offer our site. Hopefully you also enjoy the simple, simple camping with a beautiful view.

Tips

  • Be sure to visit the seasonal barn and taste their own meat, fruit and vegetables

  • Be sure to walk to the valley of the Serskampse beek

  • Local shop of the Clock for lawyer, sweet mouth for wine

  • Café concord (at jeoffrey) on the village

  • de Boondocks for a steak, Mr Gustaaf for gastronomy in Wetteren

Very good stay. We spent a very good night with friends on this plot of land where there is a lot of space!

Thank you so much !

How was the contact with the host?
Very easy, we contacted the gentleman when we arrived.

He showed us the location and where what we needed was located.

Tips for new guests?
As stated in the ad, many dogs bark, take earplugs for people who are very light sleepers.

We were surprisingly delighted with the beautiful diversified nature all around the village of Serskamp. We hiked a 10 km loop and met many exciting places along the way. Our camping site was very cosy and spacious with plenty of privacy (on the day it was even just the two of us there). The hosts provided us with firewood, kitchen utensils, microwave and a small fridge.

How was the contact with the host?
Marieken was very helpful and kind to us, she answered all our questions a priori, and made sure that we had everything we needed at the campsite. She even allowed us to change our date of arrival after I had already made the booking online and picked the wrong dates. She gave us all the space and flexibility we needed with our camping experience. Although we did not meet her physically this time (her daughter helped us to settle when we arrived), we hope to have a drink with her upon our next camping visit there.

Tips for new guests?
- Chairs/table/bbq/drinking water/kitchen stuff provided, so no need to bring too much.

- There is a traiteur shop 600 meters away (close to the church) that sells very good foods, perfect for an evening meal.

- Hiking routes very recommended, incredible nature.

- Perfect for a romantic or friends getaway.

- Bring good ear plugs for sleeping, because there is a neighbour nearby with 3-4 dogs that bark throughout the night (I really don't know how the residents tolerate that).

Very nice quiet place with a beauty of a view!
A very nice area for walking and mountain biking! We have to come back because we haven't seen everything yet.

How was the contact with the host?
Friendly pleasant people!

Tips for new guests?
The site has 2 access roads,
If you are wider than 2 meters, it is best to mention that, then you can move between the fields!

Super nice location with beautiful views and plenty of privacy! We enjoyed the peace and quiet and a walk in the Serskampse beek on the occasion of our dog's 12th birthday. In the evening we lit the barbecue (bring our own grill) and closed with a fire.

How was the contact with the host?
Very friendly and hospitable, easily accessible.
