About this location

Our wild, eco-friendly campsite is located in the Apennine hills, in an ancient chestnut tree forest far away from roads and cars. Services include fully equipped kitchen, camp fire, bathrooms with hot showers, outdoor showers, sauna, meditation platform, chill out room and much more. Wild camping Paladini is ideal for hikers, walkers, nature-lovers, artists, wood-carvers, musicians, land-artists, wild-swimmers, natural-food lovers and anyone who just wants to relax in a completely natural surrounding where wild boar, deer, foxes and even wolves can be seen occasionally. A short stroll (1.7 km) will bring you to the medieval bridge at Castiglione where you can swim in the cool river water or just chill in the breeze of the waterfall. Other tracks through the forest can take you further afield.

Hi there!  I am Irish, musician, hiker & camping enthusiast, and have a great love of this land where I have been living for the past twenty years.  The forest, rivers, wildlife and nature bring out the best in me and in anyone who visits, and my team and I are looking forward to sharing this gorgeous unspoiled part of Tuscany with you soon.  Come and get to know us and other guests at our regular evening campfires where a song or two are never far away, or try one of our chestnut flour pancakes (necci) in our communal kitchen.

Tips

  • Try the gorgeous walk along a medieval trail to the ancient bridge and waterfall for a swim

  • Just chill and enjoy the nature well away from the road

  • There is a basic shop at the pizzeria in Chiozza (1.5km), you can shop in Castiglione (3 km by foot), and a mobile supermarket comes to near the camp every Tuesday morning.

  • Highly recommended pizzeria in Chiozza (1.5km), Il Pozzo in Pieve Fosciana (8km), Locanda Belvedere in Sillico (16km in car or 8km on foot)
