A beautiful combination of farm life with the charms of the Wadden island.
Do you not have your own tent? No problem! The campsite also has several furnished tents. Small dune tents for 1-2 people. And a family tent for 1-4 people.
CAMPING AT THE FARM. WHAT CAN I EXPECT?
The campsite is located next to our farm in the polder of Schiermonnikoog. Close to the salt marshes and the Wadden Sea. We also have a furnished kitchen at the campsite with stove, refrigerator, kettle and coffee maker. You can also freely use dishes, pans, etc. That saves hassle!

Our host runs a dairy farm with 90 cows and 40 young cattle alongside the group accommodation. He took over this farm on 28 October 2011 from his father. His father passed away exactly 14 days after the farm takeover. A difficult time to run the farm and receive guests. But now after all these years, he is happily farming again.
He enjoys telling you about the cattle and the history of this farm.
We maintain the accommodations in winter; it requires a lot of upkeep but is a welcome challenge during the quiet winters.

Our hostess receives the guests, handles the bookkeeping and manages the group accommodation, campsite and holiday homes. She moved to Schiermonnikoog to work as a florist and met our host at the local bar.
We have three children who are always happy when children stay at the farm. They can play together and our son enjoys talking about the dairy farm.
Our hosts work full-time together on the farm and have signed a partnership contract for the recreational farm.

We want all guests to return home with wonderful memories of their holiday on Schiermonnikoog. And of course, we hope you will visit us again!

Tips

  • You can take the Balg Express to the most eastern point of the island. An ideal way to see seals up close!

  • The sunset at Paal 3, really it is indescribably beautiful, and what do you think of sea sparkle after a few beautiful warm days. A sea that gives light, and enchants you.

  • We have a pick-your-own garden with all kinds of vegetables and fruit near our campsite. You pay what you think it's worth. Recommended!

  • My favorite is Cafe Het oude Boothuis, you can eat well there and also go there for a drink. And afterwards dance in the Toxbar!

  • There are many restaurants on Schier, I don't have a favorite. They are all good!
