About this location
Hello, I offer you pitches on a freely accessible site, without running water (but water in tanks, not drinkable), nor electricity but with dry toilets and portable solar shower (I will make 2 available, one for each pitch), or cold shower for those less sensitive to the cold (the solar heating system that I had originally installed no longer works) in a 200 liter tank, there is also a 1000 liter water tank available on the site.
On a 6000m2 plot of land in a quiet area but not very shaded despite a few young trees, 150m from the road, (ATTENTION, the access road is not in good condition, you will have to drive slowly and not come with a lowered vehicle) you will have free access to approximately 2000m2, two pitches are available (+ another small one which will only be used from time to time for emergencies).

Located in the heart of nature, at the end of a dirt road of about 250m (not flat but passable), there are trees but they are still too young to fully benefit from their shade.
The nearest houses are 150m away.
A small pool with water lilies that is not deep, about 1.50m, and which may dry up during the summer. It is therefore advisable to be careful with children who cannot swim.
A road passes about 150m from the field, it is quite far however depending on the wind direction you can hear some cars in the distance when they are driving fast.
You have free access to a large part of the land which is clean, on another part of the land which is not freely accessible (except on the path), there is a bit of a mess which is however not very visible.
BEACHES:
- The nearest beach (Voie Sud beach) is 6 minutes by bike, 20 minutes on foot or 5 minutes by car
- La Boirie beach (with its beach huts, near the port) is 7 minutes by bike, 5 minutes by car or 25 minutes on foot.
- The Sous-région beach (north of St Denis) is 9 minutes by bike, 6 minutes by car or 33 minutes on foot.
MARKET & CITY CENTER:
- The St Denis market every morning (where we will be present from Saturday to Wednesday on our Thai cuisine stand) and the city center (many shops and supermarket) are 6 minutes by bike, 21 minutes on foot or 4 minutes by car.
PORT:
- The port of St Denis is a 9-minute bike ride, a 28-minute walk, or a 4-minute drive away. There, you'll find restaurants, a funfair, a laundromat, and boat departures to the island of Aix and La Rochelle.
LA BREE LES BAINS:
- The center of La Brée (market and shops) is approximately 8 minutes by bike, 5 minutes by car and 30 minutes on foot.
NAUTICAL ACTIVITIES:
- several nautical activities are available in the surrounding area, sailing school, surfing schools, paddleboards, etc.
CHASSIRON:
- The Chassiron lighthouse is 15 minutes by bike, 7 minutes by car or 54 minutes on foot.
WARNING! INFLATABLE MATTRESSES: If you come with a tent and an inflatable mattress, make sure you have something to protect it from. It has happened that someone has punctured their mattress on small pieces of brambles that can be lying on the ground!
If you have this type of mattress, consider putting some protection underneath just in case. I cannot be held responsible if this inconvenience occurs to you, hence this warning message. Thank you for your understanding.
NUISANCES:
- A fairly busy road passes 150m away and you can hear some cars going fast depending on the wind direction.
- You might get a visit from mosquitoes, but that's normal in the summer on Oléron.
- There are a few hens about 50m from the pitches, with a rooster that crows in the morning (bantam, so less vocal than the big ones).
- depending on the wind direction, you can also hear the activity of the campsites located about 1km to the east in the evening.
