Just three kilometres from the centres of Bree and Bocholt lies a historic water mill nestled in the green of the A-beek valley nature reserve. A dead-end access road leads you to the mill where you are welcomed by the yodelling call of the golden oriole. Wake up to the song of numerous birds, dive into the stream water and with a bit of luck you may spot a kingfisher. In the late evening you can observe passing woodcocks and calling tawny owls. This camping aims to reconnect people with nature in a natural environment in an accessible way, creating more respect for nature and raising awareness of its societal importance. This camping is certainly a beautiful setting to make this happen!
Regular ceramic workshops take place on the grounds.
Tents can be pitched on a separate lawn so guests experience minimal disruption from resident activities. Sanitary facilities are basic and include a composting toilet, a shower and 2 wash basins with hot and cold water.
In summer there is a communal fire pit under a tortuga and on the camping pitches a fire bowl can be used, as long as there is no fire risk due to drought. Wood must be purchased or brought yourself. This camping aims for a basic lifestyle. There is no electricity at the pitch and the camping is only accessible for tents.
In summer there are regular ceramic and nature experience camps on the grounds, during which the camping may be closed.

My very first book that I ever bought for myself with my own money, when I was about 12 years old, was called: "Exploring Nature". As a child, I spent a lot of time in nature and found that whole world enormously fascinating. Intuitively, I already knew back then what is now proven by science, but which many people unfortunately still close their eyes to: take the bike or the train instead of the car, do not use pesticides—it is bad for your health and for nature—leave those disposable plastic bags behind... I still love traveling by tent and bike, preferably far away from busy cities and campsites, in areas where wildlife is still relatively unspoiled. Our current garden is spontaneously and slowly being transformed into a paradise for wildflowers and insects; we enjoy that natural life and all the variety it brings. In our vegetable garden, we opt for a natural approach, based on the principles of permaculture. I am currently also taking a herbalist course because I want to learn how we can use all those medicinal herbs to feel better in our own skin. I am a trained physiotherapist and have worked in education for the past 21 years with children with motor disabilities. However, I found it increasingly difficult to reconcile myself with the current education system, which is why I decided to start my own business, focusing on ceramics and nature experiences. I also have a very strong creative side, and by combining these two, I hope to bring people closer to nature and to themselves—to their own nature. Our living environment and related themes such as global warming, growing water shortages, pesticide use, over-fertilization, etc., are a difficult issue today. I therefore believe it is important to let people feel and experience, rather than spreading theories they do not immediately connect with and against which there is a lot of resistance: after all, if you can let them feel and experience the healing power of nature, it becomes much easier to make a connection to the themes that are now openly and vulnerably on the table. In this way, hopefully, more understanding for these important themes will gradually emerge, followed by actions that truly hit their target: namely, greater awareness of the importance of our nature and taking care of it, and working together instead of against it. Furthermore, I am social, enthusiastic, full of life, and flexible; I enjoy connecting conversations, gardening, healthy cooking, cycling, jogging...
