ABOUT THE HOUSE
This is a very nice place to retreat for a while. To finally write that book, work out those project plans or just enjoy 'nothing at all'. Because we all need that in a world that just keeps turning. This cottage has the perfect vibe to completely relax and is so energetically cleansed and 'charged' that you can also recharge. Decorated with natural materials, soothing colors, lots of plants and a number of precious stones. The cottage has everything you need. 🌱
Such as a large sheltered garden (soon with a fireplace and organic vegetable garden) and a covered terrace. A Sonos music system and mood lighting that can be controlled via speech recognition. Possibly an extra TV screen to connect your laptop to (soon a beamer). Washing machine and drying rack available. Yoga mat too. Wi-Fi express not*. Disconnect in order to connect.
*If you really want it, wifi is available.
ABOUT THE AREA
You can rent this nice 1-2 person chalet in the middle of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug, yet only a 10-minute walk from Maarn station. The beautiful Henschotermeer* is within walking distance and the wooded area is basically in your backyard (e.g. the Koeheuvels). Bicycle, mountain bike and hiking trails can be found everywhere in the area and you will be amazed by the magical nature.
Would you rather go into town? You can reach Utrecht by train or car in just 15 minutes and the center of Amersfoort in 20-25 minutes by bus or car. It will take you 15min to Zeist by car and 25min to Soest. I can recommend all the nice yoga studios and healthy food places in the area.
A few minutes by bike from a PLUS supermarket, where much is also available organically. Joli Cafe is a nice hip coffee shop with a terrace in the village.
*Rental includes access pass for the Henschotermeer for 1p.

Tips

  • Go for a swim in the beautiful Henschotermeer (within walking or cycling distance), this is really a very special beautiful spot.

  • There are many different bicycle and mountain bike trails in the wooded area - of course you can also go for a nice walk.

  • A small fresh market every Tuesday morning (8am-1pm) with vegetables, fruit, flowers, nuts, fish, cheese and bread.

  • Delicious coffee and chat at Joli Cafe in the village, the hip meeting place in Maarn.
