Escape to the peaceful pines of Highlands County at Harmon Pine Tent Campsite, a private single-site tent camping spot near Lake Placid, Florida. Tucked beneath tall pine trees in Sun N Lakes Estates, this spacious rustic campsite offers a quiet place to relax, unplug, and enjoy a simple outdoor getaway surrounded by Florida’s natural beauty.
This is a private campsite with only one site on the property, so you’ll have the space to yourself. The camp area has been leveled and topped with fresh pine bark chips to create a comfortable, natural base for your tent. It is best suited for 1–2 tents and up to 4 guests. You’ll find plenty of shade, birdsong, sandy terrain, and the relaxing scent of the pine woods all around you.
Harmon Pine is a true work-in-progress retreat. I purchased the property to create my dream camp, and I’m excited to share it with guests who enjoy rustic camping and don’t mind being part of an evolving space. Some areas still show signs of the property’s long vacancy, but improvements are ongoing. Recent upgrades include a rustic outhouse with a portable toilet, giving guests a little extra comfort while keeping the experience simple and close to nature.
Guests can enjoy evenings around the Solo Stove fire pit, perfect for roasting marshmallows, relaxing under the stars, or winding down after a day of exploring. Firewood from the property, including oak and pine, is available for guest use. Parking is easy and convenient in the grassy area near the road along the property boundary, with just a short walk to the campsite around the cargo trailer.
The campsite feels tucked away, but it is still close to Lake Placid, Sebring, local lakes, nature areas, scenic drives, and other Central Florida outdoor destinations. Whether you’re looking for a peaceful nature retreat, a low-key basecamp for outdoor adventure, or a quiet place to enjoy off-grid camping, Harmon Pine Tent Campsite offers a simple and authentic Florida camping experience.
Please note that this is a rural area, and the surrounding neighborhood can occasionally be lively. You may hear ATVs, wildlife, neighborhood activity, or distant recreational shooting. Most guests still find the property peaceful and relaxing, but I like to be upfront so visitors know what to expect.

Guest Notes:
This is a rustic, work-in-progress campsite. The outhouse currently has a portable toilet, and waste must be packed out. Waste bags and wipes are provided. Guests are asked to help keep the space tidy and respect the natural surroundings.

Cancellation Policy
Guests who cancel at least 30 days before check-in date will receive a refund of the amount paid by them (excl. Campspace fees). If they cancel between 14 and 30 days before check-in, they will receive a 50% refund. Otherwise they will not be refunded. If the host does not accept the reservation, guests will receive a full refund.
