About this location

In a sheltered spot on our property stands our authentic Mongolian Yurt – also known as Ger – imported specifically from Mongolia. Spending the night in a Yurt is a unique and atmospheric experience. The round shape and natural materials immediately create a sense of peace and security. Thanks to the thick layers of wool felt, the Yurt is excellently insulated, while two layers of impregnated cotton and a rain cover provide protection from wind and rain. With a floor area of ​​35 m², a ridge height of 3 meters, and walls of 1.70 meters, there is plenty of space and comfort. Our Yurt is designed as a cozy living and sleeping area and fully adapted to the Dutch climate. The outdoor canvas has a natural color that blends beautifully with the forest, allowing the Yurt to blend discreetly among the trees. The large conservatory doors with HR double glazing let in plenty of daylight and offer a beautiful view of the forest, along with the light that enters through the dome in the round roof. For a pleasant indoor climate, underfloor heating is provided, supplemented by electric infrared heating. On colder days, the wood-burning stove provides extra warmth and ambiance. Right next to the yurt is a private log cabin with sanitary facilities and a kitchenette. Here you'll find a shower, toilet, refrigerator, gas stove, and a fully equipped kitchen. These facilities are exclusively for the yurt's guests and are not shared with others. The yurt is situated on the edge of Dwingelderveld National Park: one of Drenthe's most beautiful nature reserves, with 37 km² of heathland, forests, and hiking, cycling, and horseback riding trails. The charming village of Dwingeloo is nearby and offers cozy restaurants, shops, and terraces around the picturesque village green. Just 9 kilometers away, you'll find the Blauwe Meer, a clear blue recreational lake surrounded by nature. Here you can enjoy a swim or relax by the water. During the summer months, there's a kiosk where you can get ice cream or fries. The yurt sleeps a maximum of two people. Pets are unfortunately not allowed.

From the parking lot, walk to the left, past our accommodation 'De Wildhut', across the lawn to the right, past our guesthouse 't Atelier, to the yurt. The yurt has a comfortable box-spring bed with organic duvets. Beds are made for your stay. There is a sitting area with a TV, a wardrobe, and a coat rack. In the center of the yurt, under the skylight, is a table with chairs. In the log cabin next to the yurt, there is a kitchenette with a refrigerator, sink, 4-burner gas cooktop, and a microwave-grill. The kitchen inventory is very well-stocked. There is a wok, pots and pans, as well as crockery, cutlery, and various other kitchen utensils. To make delicious coffee, you can use the French press. The kitchen is equipped with clean kitchen towels, a dishwashing brush, and dish soap. There is also a barbecue; you just need to provide the coals. There's a bathroom with a spacious shower and toilet, and we provide clean bath towels and a washcloth. Upon arrival, you can enjoy the tea and coffee provided in the cabin. Outside the yurt is an oak table and garden chairs. The yurt shares a parking space with our other three guest accommodations: Het Atelier, de Pipowagen, and de Wildhut. The driveway is one driveway beyond our house; you can recognize it by the nameplate. The yurt can also be booked in conjunction with our other guest accommodations.
