About this location

Semi-private creekside camp-site. This spot is in the backyard of our house and there are other houses on the other side of the creek but it's relatively peaceful and quite so we think you'll find it more private than many other places in the Detroit area.
The activities
Creek access is great for canoeing and kayaking, fishing is good in the connected Detroit river and Detroit provides a wide variety of tourist activities from pro sporting events to dining, shows, casinos, guided tours, and a whole bunch of great food and drink spots!

Your host, Detroit

My wife and I recently relocated to Detroit after living in Asia for the last 5 years. I'm originally from California and she's from Hong Kong. Being travelers ourselves we love to visit new places, meet friendly and fascinating people, and experience cultures and cuisines from around the world :)
WHAT BROUGHT US HERE
After driving through Detroit in 2013 we fell in love with the city and its people so we decided to move here. Since 2013 we have been busy saving old houses, removing them from the "demo list" and helping to bring them back to life. We scouted literally every neighborhood in Detroit when we first arrived and we chose this particular neighborhood (Jefferson Chalmers) because of its rich history, great neighbors, and its outstanding natural resources. Convenient river access and proximity to nearby parks makes the location hard to beat and it's really one of the most under-valued neighborhoods in the city.
HELP US CONTINUE RESTORATION WORK
All proceeds from AirBNB help us fund our continuing restoration work so each guest brings us one step closer to saving these awesome historic homes.
