“Welcome to Rock Creek Hide Away, a 42-acre retreat in Ashe County, NC, with 20 acres set aside for your personal adventure.
Nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains, this spot is a nature lover’s paradise. A small creek—reshaped by Hurricane Helene—winds through the land, its clear waters reflecting the sky as it flows past old trees. Rolling hills, wildflower patches, and mountain views stretch out, offering a stunning backdrop for your stay.
The land’s still recovering, so you’ll be the first to explore beyond the campsite (watch for uneven ground and debris).
A natural spring offers free potable water, same as a nearby home—fill up for drinking, cooking, or to take home (bring a filter just in case).
Wildlife is all around: a strong deer presence (they pass through most nights), a bobcat, foxes, hawks, groundhogs, a woodpecker, birds, and a beaver we spotted up the mountain. Last month, while hiking to a hidden meadow with my family, my wife nearly stepped on that beaver near its dam—she froze, we laughed, and it waddled off, leaving us in awe of this place!
Bring binoculars for spotting!
A neighbor mentioned fruit trees—maybe apples, pears, or peaches—on the property, though we haven’t confirmed it yet; if you find them, feel free to pick and eat.
Hike your 20-acre area, stargaze, or chill by the fire pit.
Want to sleep off the campsite?
You can, but only with a hammock tent—fires must stay at the campsite for safety.
We’re 20 minutes from West Jefferson, close to the Blue Ridge Parkway for hiking, canoeing, and local breweries.
It’s a true off-grid setup: pack in/pack out, no pets (to protect wildlife), and quiet hours 10 PM–7 AM.

Cancellation Policy
Guests who cancel at least 30 days before check-in date will receive a refund of the amount paid by them (excl. Campspace fees). If they cancel between 14 and 30 days before check-in, they will receive a 50% refund. Otherwise they will not be refunded. If the host does not accept the reservation, guests will receive a full refund.
