About this location

TRANQUIL FOREST is a unique and private camping retreat for a tent or camper. The plot with 700 m2 located in Sintra’s mountain has all the conditions for a special experience.
The contact with nature, silence and tranquility are the main features of this spot.
You just have to set your tent or place your campervan and enjoy a night under a sky full of stars and wake up in the morning with the birds singing.
The plot is fenced, has electricity, water, WC with hot water, exterior shower and a small pool.
We are 10 minutes walking distance of the local café in Penedo and 5 minutes by car to the village of Almoçageme, that has all amenities. Also close there are several beaches like, Adraga, Praia Grande and Praia das Maçãs.
For surfing enthusiasts there are surf lessons at Praia Grande.
The beautiful village of Sintra is 12 Km away where you can explore the historic center, Pena Palace and the Moors Castle.
Also close is Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of Europe, that is worth visiting.
On weekends there's a farmer's market nearby where you can find fresh fruits and vegetables.

Due to the acess will not be possible to accomodate camping vans bigger than 6 meters or cars with trailers.

I'm willing to meet the guests at the local café in Penedo and show them the way to the plot.

  • Starting at the gate of our plot there's a beautiful walking trail that goes to Convento dos Capuchos.

  • For surf enthusiasts there are lessons and equipment available for rent at Praia Grande.

  • On the weekends there´s a farmer's market where you can buy fresh and locally produced fruits and vegetables.

  • There's a great restaurant in Almoçageme called SISUDO with great food and reasonable prices. Also close by there's a great pizzeria called Roulote da Gigi, pet friendly.
